Not including the ones out this holiday season. These are an idea of games for the DS to pick up if you don't own them already. These will be short reviews. Meteos Can you say best puzzle game ever for the DS? It competes with Lumines at an either even or better pace, considering how utterly and ridiculously addictive it is. Some say it's not like Tetris at all, therefore it's not anywhere near better than it. Dude...Tetris is gone now, so pick this up. --Notes-- -This game does have a storyline behind it, but not something to get overly involved over -Puzzle game -You allign 3 or more blocks (called Meteos) and ignite them in a rocket-like propelling fashion to launch more blocks up -Over 30 planets, each with different block sets, looks, and gravity fields -Developed by the same man behind Super Smash Brothers: Melee -Tons of unlockables -Music tracks of the different planets -Not as easy as people say... --The Verdict-- Even if you're not a fan of puzzle games (like me), you still owe it to yourself to buy this. A guilty pleasure, you wonder why it doesn't cost $50. Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Better than the current PS2 Castlevania game, Curse of Darkness, it contains a lot of action, different weapons, soul using capabilities, armor, and much more. I loved it, now you can too! Play as Soma Cruz, the heir of the dark lord, Dracula, and break apart a mysterious cult lead by Celia Fortner, who has two other heirs of the dark lord, Dmitri and Dario. Use the powers of your enemies against them with the souls you obtain from them (not automatically, except for bosses, you must battle a few times before getting one). --Notes-- -The bottom screen has the action, the top displays stats and the map -Actually has a physics engine!!! -2-D sidescroller game, like the original games, though somewhat 3-D... -Use souls to fight your way to victory -Epic bosses -Amazing visuals for a DS game -Better than Curse of Darkness --The Verdict-- I already have it and I love it. Buy the game and you won't regret it, believe me! Just remember; there's plenty of replay value with hard mode ;) Advance Wars: Dual Strike Black Hole has a new leader now, and that means new COs and new action. The storyline isn't too bad. Fight through turn-based strategy in Omega Land, and crush Black Hole once and for all. I'm actually a fan of these kinds of games. --Notes-- -Turn-based strategy game -Very decent visuals, somewhat stunning -Lots of replay value -More difficulty -More COs -More maps -More everything -Two COs at once, attacking, switching, attacking again -Maps from the original game, as well as COs -More addictive than crack (not that I know how addictive it is) --The Verdict-- Yet another amazing installment for the DS. It's somewhat easy to pass up for anyone who hates either war games or turn-based strategy. But that's probably because they're afraid to think. Buy it, and make the DS you own happy. Hope you liked this installment. Tomorrow, I'll give the verdict on some good PSP games you shouldn't miss ;)
