@Frimmel "Am I supposed to "respect women" or shoot the crap out of them and tea bag them for their noobness? Has anyone thought how all of this is really going to come across?"
Fairly easy. Respecting them is sexist. Disrespecting them is sexist.
"And so basically, if we couldn't dissipate the heat, there wasn't a whole lot of leverage we could pull to keep the heat from being generated, so we had a limited amount of time before it just shut down."
Shutting down is one thing, not shutting down and instead breaking down is another thing. I hope the system will be resilient, this time.
Oh, come on, who believes that the industry is only made up of straight white men? That's preposterous.
Those with an interest in game development should look at those who study the respective subjects. Socializing with university students, asking for information, and applying common sense should teach them what they need to know. If they don't care enough to do that, then they probably should choose a different profession that inspires them more.
@MasterManiac772 Chances are he was being ironic. By "he" I don't mean straight white male. I don't have time to type out the ridiculous amount of possible combinations.
@SpazldNinjaDude When you're dating someone, you are segregating yourself, while you are dating. The same happens on ladies' nights. When you join a sports team, you are segregating yourself. When you choose to be a fan of a team, you do the same. When you join a religion you do the same. Even when you join a certain profession. And so forth.
@loafofgame @l777l @Chr0noid Competition is a central part of it, as is status. So there are actually several "white straight male societies", usually ordered hierachically, within and in respect to each other. Competition seems to be the overall organizing principle.
