Never thought you'd agree with me, did you?

EA is not a bad developer, they just value constant sequels over new IPs most of the time. It works for them, and it appeals to the masses, so hey. Its not my cup of tea, but it works.

and what happens when that happens you become lazy because you know people will still buy my madden..

EA sports its all in the game......

lets see what 2k can do

How do you know their staff HASN'T been replaced? Staff turnover is extremely high in the games industry. I work for a software company, and with the exception of our QC staff, we've completely changed out software developer staff since I joined two years ago. I'm only two years out of college, but if seniority were measured with time with the company, I'm like #5 out of a team of about 50, not including the C-level management.

And how do you know they were replaced?

Because I know how fast developers switch out of companies, having seen it myself. It's more than likely that a good portion (maybe 30% to 60%) of Criterion and Maxis' staffs have moved on since the acquisition to other jobs, maybe at other game developers or maybe at more general software development companies, and were replaced.

It could have happened. But it still stands that these development houses existed before EA, and with much success. They have their own climate and way of doing things, and I would bet that at least a decent chunk of senior staff is still around.

With the EA dev houses, they are created from EA, and they never had their own culture, their own success, their own guidelines.

but whats the number one racing game that noobs that hate racing sims like? Burnout. Made by? Exactly. Oh and another thing, thier baseball games were way better then 2K's.

criterion ? last time i checked its not EA was the publisher....

do you hearcriterion complain ? no because they where building games on playstation in the early days

if you never made a game on playstation you will have a hard time...

EA owns Criterion.

doesnt mean they made the game

Yes it does. Or are you going to say EA didn't make Battle for Middle-Earth because EA Los Angeles did it?

Criterion is an EA studio, like it or not, the same as EA Los Angeles, EA Tiburon, EA Canada, and a host of others.

no you ......... thats not the point i was making the point was EA is not making burnout criterion is...

so you wanna say EA makes crysis ?

You wanna say Mario isn't made by Nintendo? Because technically it's EAD Tokyo that develops Mario.

CryTek is an independent developer. They aren't owned or controlled in any way by EA. But EA owns and controls Criterion and Maxis, and like it or not they are as much EA as EA Tiburon or EA Los Angeles.

criterion already had their own staff before EA bought them..

the only thing EA does is give them money, so criterion can make the game

and always crappy from start

the only thing they are good at are buying studios

Going to have to disagree again with you. NBA Live 2000 was the best basketball game they made, and it was on PS1. Look to keep this from going any further, yes EA does suck to some extent, but it's not like they don't make enjoyable games. There are worst companies then EA. Hell, right now, EA is doing better then Sega at making games. and yes Def Jam Icon did suck.

EA is only good at madden and thats it maybe ssx....

most of EA games are lackluster
