its only safe for different models. like the 40 gb's have a fan test. But for 60s and 20s..you just heat it up and the ps3 thinks its overheating. My fans are really starting to get loud...idk if dust is the problem. rsoxguy12

try using a blower or a vacuum cleaner...

Is it good for the system or bad ? There isnt really any proper proof that it destroys your console...etc..etc..

But talking logically what do you think ? it helped me alot...made my system less noisy and threw out alot of dust.

For those of you who do not know what i am talking about read below :

*WARNING TRY AT YOUR OWN RISK.I DO NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR A DAMGED SYSTEM.HAVE SOME BALLS :D AND TAKE THE RISK LIKE I DID.

To Test the fan.Switch of the main siwtch of PS3(The one at the back).Hold down the Eject button and while holding it down turn on the PS3 from the main switch. The fan will go crazy blowing out alot of dust from the vent. And i think after 15-20 seconds the fan will turn off.Switch of the PS3.Turn it back on and enjoy because all the dust has has gone :) Watch this demonstration

Ok guys just found out the problem. It has something to do with my HD monitor/DVi cable.I just disconnected it from my HD monitor and connected it to a normal SD tv with AV cables and its turning off/on/reseting the resolution by holding the power button PERFECTLY fine !! :S

And on HD if i hold the button for more than 5 secs on startup it doesnt reset the resolution either :S

So anyone of you got any idea about this ??

The new 80gb will feature the exact same hardware as the current 40gb except the hdd, so it wont have backwards compatibility with ps2 games.

jacksik

is it because of the hardware or the softwares ?? i am thinking that its the softwares !
