"Dont play the PS3 for prolonged hours(normally not more than 5-6 hours"

As soon as i read this i stopped paying attention..
what ever you have to say is invalid..
you have no idea how many times i have played
well over that time period..straight..
leave my ps3 on all freaking day..
in what might be considered a cranped space..
it only ever freezes when online and that happens
once in a blue room..
GTFO of here you ****ing troll!!

Mau-Justice

Hate to break it to you, but all consoles break. Obviously you didn't own a PS2.

These are just precautions anyway. I leave my xbox on for 8-9 hours at a time, so I'm really playing with fire...but it's still kicking. He's just saying take care of your console.

hilltops You forgot to quote the whole sentence let me write it out for you here."Dont play the PS3 for prolonged hours(normally not more than 5-6 hours mainly depends on the room temperature)."

The room temperatue is the main thing. If the room temp is 15 degree celcius below i dont think that anything can happen to your PS even if its on for a whole freakin day ! But what if its 30+ degrees ?

I do agree with you though that there are very less chances of something happening to it(But again its the risk you shouldnt be taking).Anyway did you ever bother reading the user manual/safety books that come with the ps3 ?? I am pretty sure that even there they must have mentioned about this issue.

TC i already had a HDTV before buying my PS3 and when i played it on HD i didnt like it aswell. But trust me when i bought my Samsung syncmaster 931bw for 200$s the quality of the games completely changed they are FAR better now than any SD/HD TV.

The thing is that on big screen HD tvs the quality is lost but on monitors due to the small screen and FULL PROGRESSIVE HD output NO quality is lost.

When compared to Xbox live i must say it is bad.But the good thing about it is that its completely 100% free. And also i never had any problem with mine.Mostly play GTA IV and even though it isnt a multiplayer game,i never fell short of players.

There have been such problems in the past and have been solved by cleaning the lens of Blu ray drive. But again it all depends on how the owner has kept his console. Many kids on gamespot nowadays.

[QUOTE="RahKayne"]

come on guys what if he really does have this problem?

truenextgen

Yea their is a 0.6% chance that he does. Now if it was a 360 it would be a 30% :P

But with a PS3 their is still a 0.6% chance. I mean people do win the lotto also so.

LOL

Dear TC.

Firstly do keep in mind that this Hard Disk space issue shouldnt be a problem when buying a PS3 as it uses a 2.5" normale SATA hard disk.Found in our laptops and some PCs.it can be taken as high as 200+ GB.So forget about that getting a 80gig model would be just a waste of money.

Secondly there isnt much difference in the 40GB,60GB and 80GB models. But theres hell lot of difference between the 20GB and the rest.So it would be best to never get a 20GB model. The production of 60GB model has been stopped. So your out of luck with the PS2 compatibilty thing.(Do keep in mind that 60 GB was the only PROPER model to run all PS2 games because unlike 80GB it wasnt PS2 emulation.)

I personally would recomend you to go for 40GB GB model. As its the most simple model out there. Also the 60/80 GB also have been known to have heating issues. So be carefull with your choice.Heres a simple chart comparing four models.hope this post helps you.

Port the engine onto the 360, split it into 5 DVDs, and let us install the game onto the hard drive. I'm not seeing the hardware limitation. 360 GPU > PS3 GPU. 360 tri - core (2 treads per core) CPU is basically equal to PS3's 1 core 7 thread CPU. Why the sony loyalty? MGS2 came out for Xbox....citizen-zero

hahaha funny. These kids nowadays just go google up a little bit info in their favour and come up and write stupid things like "360 GPU > PS3 GPU. 360 tri - core (2 treads per core) CPU is basically equal to PS3's 1 core 7 thread CPU."

TC before making the thread you should have done some research.Cross platform games on consoles dont look much different in terms of graphics. In the case of PCs its a different issue. And when its a PORT than nothing new is added. In this case it is a port so for them they already compressed the files keeping the DVD size in mind, hence blu ray wasnt of any use at all.But lets name some other game, lets say Far Cry 2.Devs have had advantage over there.

Yea, I was just BSing with yea. 0.6 is a pretty good number. And at .6 "like you said," You would have to think, that if taken care of at all, its almost unbreakable.
My Guess is that the .6% have dumped theirs around pretty good. Just a guess. truenextgen

oh ok lol.And your guesss is my guess.I have a friend who literaly jumps around his PS3,has dropped his tv onto the PS3 and has also stepped on it accidently :D.And still he talks of warranty.I get pretty angry when he talks about it.But even now his PS is in perfect condition, only the upper panelling is screwed because of mishaps :D,
