If its 0.6 without a fan. Does that make it like 0.001 with a fan. truenextgen

it is already 0.6%.It counts for the functioning console, which includes for the fan.If thats what you mean ?

I did post this in a thread. But it seems that its becoming hell of a problem nowadays so thought a whole new thread would save alot of you people suffering from the YLOD(Yellow light of death).

the Infamous Yellow Light of Death.

Firstly Ps3s failure rate is only i think .6% or so.That means of over 100000 PS3 owners 1 can be the unlucky dude.

Secondly most of these Yellow lights of death and also the Read ring of death are caused by the owner himself.Read these few points to prevent YLOD/RROD.

1)Strictly PREVENT FROM OVER-HEATING.

2)Dont play the PS3 for prolonged hours(normally not more than 5-6 hours mainly depends on the room temperature).Your main aim should be to keep the PS3 as cool as possible. If you have noticed there are three safe fan stages in PS3.The first is completely noiseless,2nd is a very minute sort of sound and in the 3rd stage you can distinctively make out the fan voice/noise.If it goes above the 3rd stage shut it down and give it a rest for a while(its not a PC).

3)Dont place the ps3 inside cabinets/entertainment box...etc..etc(ANYSORT EVEN ventilated ones are harmful),dont place it on rugs/carpets..etc..

4)Leave an empty space of ATLEAST TWO feet from where the HOT air comes out of the PS3.And ATLEAST ONE feet from where the cold air goes in.

5)By a small fan or something keep it around 4-5 feet away from PS3 and face it towards the PS3.THIS HELPS ALOT ! My PS3 never went into 3rd stage fan noise after i did this trick

6)DO NOT shake the PS3 vulgurly.Do not try to pick it up or change its position when its turned on.This will cause the displacement of HDD(Which inturn results in the YLOD).Also this literaly ***** up the inside of your PS.You should have some care for the sensitivity of HDDs.

Enjoy and have fun.

TC you shouldnt bother. You are not gonna win anything. And btw do keep in mind that if you lose Sony can inturn make a case on you for wasting their time.

I have owned my 60gb ps3 since launch, but I dont think it is worth keeping anymore. I honestly love it, but the lack of games really drives me away. Do you guys think this is a good decision? Its already on ebay though Gamerkat

OMG :O ! Your selling off the BIG D on EBAY ! Its a very bad idea indeed.Keep it and wait for the titles to come out.PS3 isnt even half way through its life.Nowadays the average rate of completion of a game is around 2 years. So that means we`ill be watching good titles in Q4 of 2009.But still even now many kool titles are coming out.I do agree with you though that when the ps3 came out it had hardly any good titles.

Read this and see how much US PS3 owners are benefeting when compared to the 360 guys.Even if sony is losing money you shouldnt worry about it.

"This is all good news for customers, who get all that computing power for a relative bargain. iSuppli called the PlayStation 3 an "engineering masterpiece," with a motherboard that looks more like that of an enterprise server or network switch than a games console."

http://www.pcworld.com/article/127906/sony_losing_big_money_on_ps3_hardware.html

And this is exactly why Sony makes PS3,FOR US.Unlike the 360 which is profiting on every single console they sell out.Read the last few paras.

TC i disagree with you.Because Assassins Creed is certainly one of the best games i have ever played. It isnt DULL.Its basically tough and thats why most of the people hate it.

Anyway, the worst game i own is Darkness.IT SUCKS ! it is NOWHERE NEAR Condemned.Believe me if you are getting it for over 10$ dont because its a waste of your money.I got it from a friend.
