Quite frankly the biggest thing FC2 has going for it aside from the open world is the procedural story telling - which no one seems to give a toss about - rather wanting to post technical about the engine. Wonderful

You can compare any game visually with crysis but in the end Crysis comes out on the top and the most important reason for that is its setting i.e. An island with green lush forest,beaches,palm trees...etc..Alll of them are HEAVEN.

Operation Flashpoint (2001) did massive maps that dwarfed everything up until its follow up ArmA in 2006.

FC2s is petite.

ArmA is ahem

Pretty OFP in 01 did more than 50....

Arma might have had big maps streaming at once but it didnt have ANY of the ADVANCE FEATURES of Far Cry 2.Which made it alot easier to stream at once.Far Cry 2 has ALL the ADVANCE features of Cryengine 2/Crysis and at the same time its HELL bigger than Crysis.Here are some comparisons :

Even so, its not going to be nearly as interactable and destructable as Crysis enviroments - never the less it looks good no doubt.

As I said its petite compared to OFP and ArmA.

And nah the Dunia engine is not advanced as the Cry engine 2. On release it'll be more apparant. What it does have up on the Cry Engine 2 is fire spreading and tree re growing (which has been done in other titles).

Well no dude your wrong.This is just a usual misconception amongst un-informed people (especially at SW).People over here dont know jack about both tht engines and always go on saying that Cryengine 2 is better.

As i said earlier that Far Cry 2 is more advance.Its has ALL those features of Crysis and alot more added to them example :

Fully destructable enviroments (Not just palms trees and sheds,trees break off properly where you shoot them even from the branches)

Day night cycles

Every thing (Even every single blade of grass) reacts dynamicly to the world and enviorment (weather,fire,player..etc..etc)example when a car passes over the grass it leaves a trail of dead grass and if the enemy notices that, they will investigate.

Full open streaming world WITHOUT any invisible walls(or loading times)

Far more advance AI (They actually have lunch,dinner,sleep...etc....They even try to trap you,they even try to rescue their injured buddies,they even chase you down if you run away) They even follow the tyre tracks or trails.

Its better optimized than Cryengine 2

These all are some of the features which are added to far cry 2(and can be added to Cryengine 2 but havent been)All the other important features of Cryengine 2 (motion blurr,depth of field,soft-self shadowing,advance dx10 bumpmaping,destructable trees and buildings) are all added in FC2.So that makes FC 2 no less than Cryengine 2.Heres a video proof :

As you can notice it has all those things i mentioned including more destructability of buildings.The trees just dont snap off,their branches break properly and dynimacilly depending on where you shoot.

In terms of beauty Crysis gets the upper hand.Thats what i mentioned in my VERY first post.The reason is very simple.The setting of Crysis is more appealing.With green lush jungles and beautiful islands its like a Heaven.I enjoyed Crysis on High-very high and it was visually one of the best games i ever played.In the end its all a matter of your taste.

Even with all the "endless" possibilities, I have yet to see a level that made me say "Wow that is amazing".

lol dude its just an example of the endless possibilities with this game !

BUT it doesnt matter what the possibilities in the game are if the game is not fun. Every level i have watched so far looks slow, boring, and bad controls, and each level was under 3 minutes long. If the sp in lbp is like this, it will be over in 3 hours tops. I am expecting 8.5 best here on gs, most likely lower.
