If you read the full article, it clearly states that some devs may charge for 4K not Sony like some people seem to think, have they even read the article!? If it costs devs extra to do 4K, then 3rd party devs/licensees have every right to charge extra if they want to and could pass on the costs.
If it costs 3rd party devs extra for 4K then it's only fair they charge for it and there's nothing Sony or MS can do about it. 1080p 60fps at ultra settings is what they should be pushing for and not get caught up in the 4K gaming hype.
@kadaverhagga: "4k 30/fps is not a bonus, that is a punishment", why not just wait and see how devs use the extra power they now have at their disposal? What you're saying is all speculation at the moment and I'm sure most devs know how to find a balance between gameplay and visuals. I think you're getting value for money with the Pro.
@kadaverhagga: 1080p 60fps is exactly what almost every gamer wanted this gen and was crying about, so if they manage to get some games running at 4K is a bonus at the price they asking. People are not really looking at the Pro specs and the price Sony are asking for it. I played some gorgeous looking games on the X1 and PS4 and they are way underpowered compared to the Pro, so I expect the games to look and run even better on the Pro and Scorpio because devs can get better results from a console than a PC with similar specs.
What happened to I'd rather have higher fps than Ps?? Fanboys are hilarious! Most PC players don't even have a 4K rig, let alone afford one. I think Sony had price in mind when designing the Pro and I think they hit the sweet spot! More powerful upgrade but cheaper than what I paid for the less powerful X1 and PS4 at launch. I enjoyed games on the X1 that were 900p or less, so 4K on some games or not is not a deal breaker for me, as long as it's not under 1080p.
I'm sold just on the pricing alone, what a bargain and HDR for everyone was a nice update. What a time to be a console gamer and if MS get their pricing right on the Scorpio , that will be a day purchase aswel. Now please concentrate on games now.

I hope to see more of Horizon, one of my most anticipated PS4 games next to God OfWar 4 and I'm glad Guerrilla hired devs from Bethesda and CD Projekt to help, it can only be positive.
