Who did this have done a great job to some extent but most of this is actually reused assets through past sony ps events and old ads/footage.

The faces for instance (i am sure) were for a campaign showing players reactions to games for the booths at a previous E3 (I'm sure it was E3 a couple of years ago or maybe another event.) The symbols I think were added on top of the player's eyes by who ever created the fake ad as that part wasn't really that well done since it just floats on top rather awkwardly. And also the playstation symbols are in the wrong order from what they have gone with in the past.

Plus to my knowledge, Sony have never put any console idents before the ad. Its always been something for the end as Sony prefer to go with interesting and usual ad concepts in general doing it this way would ruin the reveal of the brand and thus would make the ad less memorable.

Then there's the footage ripped from the ps4 conference that was shown in Feb with nothing new added to the table in terms of extended gameplay footage or from other Titles.

Finally, there is a lot of reuse of old sound idents such as the 'playstation' part at the end (think this was used back in the psone days.) Plus the fact that the ps4 console is obviously a 3d render (and a not too good one at that.)

one thing that should be said to Kate is that Gamers know that the violence isn't real as it is generally over the top 'hollywood' style type of violence.

And that gamers would be just as shocked as she would be if they witnessed real violence happening right in front of them.

To be honest, there isn't any. I thought that mentioning about DRM would obviously show my stance that i am against the idea.

Only the large scale publishers and devs may believe that always on would benefit them in that they believe that this would reduce used games sales and piracy when in fact it will push folk away from their games on any platform that goes down the aways on route.

My point here was more on the fact that some people show signs of double standards when it comes down to the kinect as it is possible that the new ps eye itself may also be mandatory considering that the new ps4 controller may need it to function properly which would put it in a similar situation as the kinect in that respect.

@MjnE @liquidsolid If you bothered to look at my previous comments on here (they've been engulfed from all the posters) you would of seen that i am well aware of the DRM ms are imposing and that with every launch of an app or game that the next box will phone home to inforce said DRM.

I did not assume like many other commenters that naively believes that aways on just means that and not knowing that there's more to it than that.

@Zeeksie @lusitanogamer You know, when folk mention about the kinect they seem to forget that the ps4 will have a kinect like device in the form of the new ps eye.

Thing is there still is a grey area around if that would be mandatory as well considering that the dualshock 4 has a move-like sensor built in. It looks highly likely that the new ps eye would also be packaged in with every ps4 and it may possibly be that the ds4 controller may not function correctly without the new ps eye.

we'll just have to wait and see.

I know ms offer a robust service in Live but it isn't immune to common server problems such as crashes and hardware failure and server overload.

Besides that's not the point of my reply, its more about them using 'always on' as a method of DRM which ultimately could lead to a negative impact on the xbox brand just as the ps3 was a real test on brand loyalty back when it was released.

@Sevenizz you know I've seen a fair few comments like your's talking about always on as not the big a deal.

the thing is the always on part it not the problem as i would imagine that there are a majority of 360's that are always connected to the internet.

the real issue with what ms is doing is that (if these rumours are true) when you launch a game/app on the next xbox the system would 'phone home' (also known as calling back to base) to check if you have the right to use said app/game.

this method would reduce piracy but it will also affect the used game market plus ms would have to make sure that their servers could cope with the demand to avoid what happened to the recently released simcity as if there is any interruption to the servers will effectively lock out all nextbox users from using their systems.

@surferosh @Brotelho Have you considered virtualisation?

installing something like VMware player/virtualbox and installing xp as a Guest OS would be one way of getting your old games running on a newer PC.
