I obviously didn't make myself clear.

I'm not sure whether I'm nearly up to the landsmeet or not. I'm in Denerim markets. I've done the brecillian forest, all the DLC and redcliff. I haven't been to Orzammar yet.

The problem is that I'm stuck in the Denermin markets. If I try to leave the area I get a 'city map' (not the world map).

The city map is not yet the same as the one I've looked up on Google because I have less icons on it. Obviously there are more quests that I haven't got yet which trigger the rest of those icons.

The icons that are on my map are either in grey (can't access yet) or I have already done everything I can find to do there.

So... I'm now stuck in Denerim markets with nothing left to do and no way to move on.

DId I miss something or is it a bug?

Not all the areas that I can see on maps on Google are visible to me yet. I have visited all the back alleys etc. So far there are 3 greyed out items. THey look to be Arl Howe's land, something nearby with the same symbol and something that looks like the castle. I've gone around and around Denerim markets etc, doing every quest I can including for the guilds like Chantry board, Blackstone Irregulars, thos freelance mages etc etc.

I've looked up what quests remian and some of them are apparently marked on my map. I don't know if they really are as I can't get to my world map or change party members.

The alienage isn't open. I can't work out if I'm meant to get in. I figure they'll open gates when ready.

The only quest I'm fully stuck on is the guy who I can pay to tip me off about crimes. I've done 3 missions out of 4. He won't give me the 4th yet. He just says he's working on the biggest haul of my life, but 'the opportunity hasn't presented itself'.

So given I can't get out of Denerim to get to my world map OR get any further progress in Denerim markets, what amy I meant to do? Is this a bug or did I miss something really simple?

The file name and subdirectory path should be in quotation marks. After the marks type a (space) then -enabledeveloper console. The space is required.

When you press the tilde button and start typing, what will show up is a ton of letters and symbols at the top of your screen: you won't see what you type, so be careful.:)

Hit (enter) when you're done typing the command.

I've done all that. I even tried changing (keybinding.ini) with exchanging what they call 'grave' for tilde. It made no difference.

The problem I'm having is that when I press tilde, the screen freezes (like it's meant to... I hear this is all you see of the console until you type) BUT when I type... nothing happens. No letters or symbols.

I'm getting greedy now though. My character is a bard/assassin rogue. Bard was a dumbass choice and I want to swap it for one of the others. Console should have let me do this but I can't get it to work. they do a fine job in DA:O with locking Blood Mage specialization; as it's some very sensitive thing, you shouldn't be able to just learn it from a tome you can buy in a shop!

however, you can unlock it outside of the whole redcliff thing. you can get it from the unrest of Alienage part of the story.

and of course, you need to be a mage...why would a warrior or rogue be able to become a blood mage anyway? at very least you need to dual class first...

BUT, they simply screw it with the exapansion...you can actually buy a blood mage tome and unlock it for both the Origins and the Awakening!

I don't want to have to wait for Awakening. I want to get it for Wynne right now. I agree it's a good idea to make it not easy to come by and that you need to really do something evil to get to be evil.

The reason why I want it when I am not a mage is for Wynne.

OK... so can someone point me to a mod that either unlocks or allows a rogue to unlock it the same way a mage would (for Wynne and possibly Morrigan?). It makes sense for Morrigan to be a blood mage, but I imagine it would work better with Wynee... unlimited mana/health basically/ right?

and if no one hear knows, what's a good forum to put this on? I don't want to get too far ahead of this.

I've read many different points of view on how to unlock the blood mage specialty but tonight I'm finding more specific answers that are unconfirmed but hopeless sounding :-(

I'm playing as a rogue. Is it true there is no way I can unlock this specialization for Wynne?

One thing I've read about how to do it is to PLAY AS A MAGE??? (Then if you ever play DAO again, it will be unlocked for any character?) and at Redcliff, make a deal with the demon that it can haunt the boy again later.

I don't want to let it haunt the kid again, but I will if I have to. (Yes/No)

I don't want to kill Isolde, but I will if I have to (I'd offer the same in her shoes for my girl) (Yes/No)

This won't work if I send Wynne (or preferably Irving?) into the fade. It must be me and ONLY if I am a mage (Yes/No)

IS this really the ONLY place in the game to unlock this specialization? I read a spirit will let you in the Brecillian Woods but I'm willing to bet this was a cock up with the Arcane Warrior specialization instead.

I'm having trouble activating the console. I've done everything I've read online as solutions as I believe it is common to have issues with console in this game.

I've made sure the shortcut links to daorigins.exe and not daoriginslauncher.

I've added -enabledeveloperconsole after target in shortcut.

I've editing the keybindings.ini so that it points to the tilde key, not 'grave' key.

I've altered the properties on both the shortcut and it's target to run as administrator and set to XP service pack 2 compatibility as one user suggested.

When I enter the game, I press tilde and my keyboard shortcuts stop working (as normal) but typing letters does NOT produce the letters to appear on my screen. (I've read that on Vista or higher, the console doesn't show up until you type. You just can't play the game with it open and when you type, codes appear). Also pressing tilde again doesn't usually allow the game to continue. It kind of freezes up the controls, though AIs continue to function.

I don't think you can get the items if you forgot to loot them.

I didn't forget. I had no idea that he would leave my party or that I wouldn't see him again or that the game wouldn't give me the stuff he had on back like it does with other people.

Anyway, this is why I'm asking for the console codes to add another copy to my inventory.
