Here's what you need: https://secure.newegg.com/NewVersion/Wishlist/PublicWishDetail.asp?WishListNumber=6069725&WishListTitle=5k+omg

You went over! Unacceptable! (Just kidding) ;)

Prebuilt - Ready to go

DIY - Take time to research, make sure all your parts are in stock, know how to build it or have someone that knows, less money and better performance if you do everything right, though!

[QUOTE="waqster"]

i was thinking about alienware... i seen one for about 5k and its pretty good.

http://www.alienware.com/product_detail_pages/Area-51/area-51_overview.aspx?SysCode=PC-AREA51-R6&SubCode=SKU-DEFAULT&source=ECH0028

what do u think?

garbage you can get WAY better resualts with DIY. especially with $5000 you can make almost the best computer parts you can get on the market today.

You'll be able to get more performance if you do it yourself, but the alienware will be setup for you and good to go (and the case looks awesome to boot). Anyway, just suggestions. :)

I'd get an Alienware or something with that money. But, if you want to build, check out newegg and sort all the parts by review, price, etc. Just to get a feel of what's the best. You'll want a nvidia 9800X2 if you want the best right now, and as Trooper mentioned quad-SLi. And with that, also make sure you get an awesome monitor. :D

That wasn't my intention, silly. :P

@Trooper - Animated. :o

@TC - I agree with Guitar, Auzentech would be my choice if not Creative.

You don't want noise cancelling headphones if you want the best sound. The best ones are open ear.Trilvester

Apparently our definition of quality sound is a bit different.

I own some BOSE headphones and they're awesome. I've gone the cheaper route and gotten great quality headphones in the past, but something usually happens like one of the ears dies. BOSE has great sound and lasts a long time. The noise cancelling makes it so I can't hear someone talking to me from just a few feet away. :o

Logitech S510 and a standard white microsoft wired mouse. Actually, it's kind of yellowish now. :)
