You're probably right about most of those things. Luckily the armor is fairly nice looking, for the most part, but if the ingame stuff doesn't do it for you you can probably find downloadable content or create your own.
If you want good quests and stories you should stick to the modding community. Bethesda isn't know for creating great stories.
However, the two things Bethesda does know how to do, and are really good at it are 1) developing lore; 2) creating a world with endless things to do.
If you spent money on Skyrim and are trying to enjoy it, for me, I don't even play the quests. Treat it like a sandbox and make up your own game and quest. Walk around the world, explore caves and forts - it's so much more enjoyable. Same with Fallout 3.

@k41m: I never listened to Cradle of Filth. I didn't want to go that heavy. Spandex and leather isn't what I would call 'badass' either. I listen to a bit of metal, but more like Rammstein, Tool, Dragonforce, Trivium - 'metal' bands that don't take them too seriously. I used to listen to Mudvayne when Dig came out, but that's more emo/hardcore than metal.
I disagree with calling that 'badass'. I don't find that particular song very engaging to me. I mean I don't really listen to gangster rap other than old stuff like Suicidal Tendencies, Body Count, Cypress Hill, Run DMC, and NWA on rare occasion...but I don't own any of there albums or anything. And anyone can take clips of gang violence and plug them into a music video. Take that out and they're just standing around, singing.
If you want badass, and they're real nutty people (banned from a couple countries in Europe for being too violent, banned in many venues across USA) there is Kings of Nuthin' - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyTqZNMWQUM
Gauranteed it isn't your type of music, but you don't have to be a rap artist to be 'gangster'.
And if you're looking for crazy videos not meant for TV, these guys have some risque videos. But for badass, doing a live, free concert at a mental hospital has to be up there, especially since the patients were allowed to fully engage the band - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qv1knSgUixM. Again you probably won't like the music, so speed through it - but it's just rock n' roll.
If you like straight-up violent music videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1W6BWNyo5bM is kinda fun.
And here's is a clip of a music video that has been pretty much been internet banned because of realistic simulation violence and cannibalism: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9JuVynIKIA. I used to be able to find the full one in the interweb annals, but no longer can. It was fairly difficult to watch.
Also, youtube anything by Butch Haller, especially Stairway to Kevin. Dude's pretty badass,
I think the last thing Fallout needs is more realism. The original game wasn't about realism - it was about fun and just being out of this world crazy. I want more factions. Dozens more. Cults, military, mafia, gangs, police, etc. I want more enemies, more sci-fi, more guns, more death animations and more gore, and more 'ladies of the night'. What happened to the lightning mauser? Wouldn't it be fun if the next game was in Roswell New Mexico? All the crazy stuff they could do with that location.
The game should be fun and insane. The enemies should be scary as heck. This is radioactive wasteland America. There should be a ridiculous amount a violence, and not just because you're causing it. And it should be brutally hard at the beginning and level off as you get better equipment.

Invincibility in 007 Goldeneye 64
Defeating Culex in Super Mario RPG
Speed Run in Super Mario RPG
I think I beat Smithy in under 8 minutes in Super Mario RPG
Clan Match in CoD - one on three. Three guys against me for first place, they planted the bomb. I eliminated all three and was able to defuse to win the match and first place. I wasn't particularly good and often used as a decoy or meatshield.
I got a couple of the really difficult characters in Ogre Battle 64.
Beating my cousin in a match of XCOM: Enemy Unknown using his ghosts against him. I think he is like 5:1 against me. Haha. He's far superior at tactical games than I am.
The only canadian brewery I have really dealt with is Unibroue out of Quebec. Most if not all their beers are from Belgian recipes. If you can find it, Maudite would be an excellent choice. This is a very complex 8% ABV Belgian Strong Dark Ale generally sold either in a 4 pack or 750ml corked bottle. Prices are pretty fair as well compared to the real Belgian imports. And which part of Canada do you live? I'm about 10 minutes from the Windsor border and i believe you can find beers from breweries like Bells. The Third Coast Old Ale is a perfect recommendation.[QUOTE="Murderstyle75"][QUOTE="rocinante_"]
ok--murder, i'm pickin up some booze tom; i llike dark beers, usually from local breweries, like sleeman; what're some good ones? (live in canada, if that makes a difference)
rocinante_
i live like an hour outside of toronto
i'll try to look for some of those beers you mentioned, thanks
I can help you out. Most LCBOs have a bit of everything - try to avoid the beer store because it's owned by the larger beer conglomorates.
Toronto has so many beers, and all the best restaurants not are brewhouses/brewpubs.
From Toronto, you can't go wrong with anything by Mill St. It's not top tier but its a pretty decent start out. I like there Tankhouse. Their Chaudiere is probably the best thing they brew and it's a spring seasonal.
I like Steamwhistle Pilsner. It's best out of cans.
Beau's is pretty decent. Try the Lug Tread on draft. It skunks in the bottle for some reason. Their Bog Water is phenomenal (brewd with Bog Myrtle instead of hops) and that is a winter seasonal. Wag the Wolf for summertime.
Toronto has Great Lakes (one of my favs), Amsterdam, Mill St., Steamwhistle, Left Field, Duggan's, Cool, Denison's, King, Bellwood's, Kensington, Hogstown, Spearhead (really interesting), Junction, Black Oak, Indie Ale House, Granite, Hop City, Get Well, Black Creek Historical Brewery, Snowman (entirely gluten free), The Three Brewers restaurant (I think this originated in Quebec), Magnotta, Saint Andre, Radical Road, Cheshire Valley, Old Credit, Church Key (?),etc.
West of Toronto (Oakville to London) has Cameron's, Wellington, Double Trouble, Forked River, F&M Stonehammer, Better Bitters Nickelbrook, Brick, Grand River, Trafalgar Ales and Meads, Railway City, etc.
North of GTA to Muskokas has Creemore (the launched a new line called 'Mad & Noisy'), Hockley, Neustadt, Lake of Bays, Muskoka, Flying Monkeys, Sawdust City, Barley Days (?) etc.
East of GTA to Ottawa has Beau's, Kichesippi, Durham, Clocktower, Skeena (?), etc.
And south GTA to Niagara Falls has Silversmith, Oast, Niagara College, etc.
I know I'm missing some, and I know there is a new one out in Windsor and I can't remember what it's called offhand. But most of these guys I've dealt with and know at least one person invovled in the company fairly well. I'm not a big fan of Brick, Trafalgar, Stonehammer, Black Creek, Cool, Kensington or Double Trouble. And I'm unfamiliar with Sawdust City, Barley Days, Clocktower, Skeena, Kichesippi, Get Well or Left Field.
The thing with Ontario is home brewing and micro/nano breweries are a really new concept because, due to previous legislation the lines of legal and illegal weren't really defined due to laws from prohibition. In the past couple years it's been changed. And it's great because it's making tons of jobs and money. And it's putting the restaurant business on it's butts because a lot of them are making restaurants out of their breweries - hence brewpubs.
Try to find Steam Whistle. It's best in cans and poured into a glass. Stay away from anything labelled as 'Pale Ale'. They will be more bitter. If you're from Canada (Ontario to be specific) find some Beau's Lug-Tread. On Draught is best, it doesn't treat well in glass.
If you like Belgian styles and you have trouble finding them, or they're too expensive look for anything by Unibroue (except the Ephemere, not many people like that flavour profile). Those Quebecois have a pretty good grasp of the abby styles.
You also seem to like the Bavarian-style weizens, stick to those kinds; Erdinger, Schneider, Paulaner, etc and stay away from the Belgian witbiers like Hoegarden.
The best thing to do is stick to brands you're familiar with. So if you like Samuel Adams beers go to their website and they should have a listing of all their beers with tasting notes, ingredients, etc. Look for beers that are more malt-forward than hops.
However, hops is what gives the bitterness, usually. But hops also gives beer the flavour. There are hundreds of different varieties. You like the weizens, and typically those use cascade hops among others. IPAs also use cascade and citra-hops. Cascade hops can give tropical flavours like bananas, mangoes, etc., but also lemon, and grapefruit. So, find out the styles of hops from beers you do like. Search for stuff under around 20 IBUs or less. Experiment and have fun.
Growing up and playing violent video games made me less likely to go out and try to hurt people. If I was getting picked on or generally had a bad day I'd take it out on video games. And my favourite games were Soldier of Fortune, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Fallout 2. It doesn't really get much more violent.
You're right, Murder. About the ales and lagers. I know. I used two key words 'typically' and 'usually'. I love dark lagers. I'm not a big pilsner fan, but it's a european style and has little to do with adjunct lagers - unless we're talking about Labatt Blue 'pilsner'.
Beer is also described as any beverage that uses malts, yeast, hops and water. A lot of the American Lagers are technically not beers at all, but malted beverages.
And about tequila, it is known to be one of the more complex liquors. I have trouble getting through the taste of the agave. It's not a flavour I enjoy. Cuervo and Suaza are technically not even tequila as I believe they only use 40% agave - I think it a tequila needs to be 100% agave. I use El Jimador. I prefer aged rum or Scotch/whisk(e)y.
Also, you can find compareable Scotch for cheap. Some of the cheap brands outclass some more expensive brands. I've had some 12s that are better than 15s and 18s.
