I never was into alcohol either.  I thought it sucked, too.  And I wouldn't say beer is an acquired taste.  Many peoples tastes change as they age and they want something less sweet than sugar factories like pop/soda or juice.

I remember hating, HATING beer, until my best friend almost forced me to drink a Steam Whistle pilsner.  I think beer is amazing now.  It's just not every beer is made equal.

I'm not going to tell anyone to drink, it's up to you, but when you're out with a girl or guy you really like and that person asks for a beer, cocktail or glass of wine do you really want to order a Pepsi?  It is lame.

So, what you do is decide whether you want a beer, cocktail, or wine.  Instead of asking your server, go to the bar and ask the bartender to help you out.  If the bartender is worth a damn he should have an idea.

If you want a beer beer has two categories; ales and lagers.  Ales typically have more complex flavours and are easier to brew.  Lagers are usually easier to drink and have a cleaner, crisper and sometimes dry taste.

With cocktails you have to start with the base liquor, which is anything from vodka, gin, whisk(e)y, scotch, tequila, rum, brandy, cognac.  If you're new to cockails I'd stick to vodka. Maybe rum.  Gin can have a off-putting flavour as juniper berries can taste like some sort of coniferous tree or cut grass.  If you must have gin, go for something like Beefeater, or look for a Genevre-style gin.  The types of gin are London-Dry, Genevre and Old Tom.  London-Dry is the typical gin, the other two are rarer, but taste sweeter.

Stay away from Scotch and Cognac.  Don't even bother trying.  You won't like it.  Start with a nice whisk(e)y.  Canadian Rye is a good beginnning point.  Gibson Finest was my first whisky that I really enjoyed.  Try Collingwood.  You can use Collingwood on pancakes.  If you want Cognac go with brandy first.  For both VS (Very Special) is cheapest, VSOP (Very Special Old Proof) is mid-range, XO (Extra Old) is pemium.

Also, if you want to get into Scotch try an aged rum.  Stay away from white and spiced rums unless you're mixing cocktails.  White and spiced rums are specifically for mixing.  Bacardi 8 years is pretty awesome.  Makes a fantstic rum and coke.  Getting into aged rums makes spiced rum redundant as aged rums have the spiciness but far less vanilla.
The problem with mixing rum, I find, is the sweetness can be overpowering and it's really important to use fresh ingredients when using rum.  Try a Mojito made with fresh lemon, lime and mint - if made right it doesn't taste much different than Sprite or 7Up.

I'd also stay away from tequila.  Tequila is tough to understand and has a weird bite to it.  And the high is more euphoric than drunkenness.

The easiest to drink is vodka.  Ask for a chilled vodka, otherwise look for Russian Standard, Wvyborowa, Stolichnaya, Tito's Handmade but Smirnoff will do.  What makes vodka really good in cocktails is the fact that the flavour is neutral.  Like water, the less flavour a vodka has the better.  A good vodka drink to start is a Madra - Vodka, OJ, Cranberry.  And instead of 1 1/2 oz of vodka, ask for 1oz.

With cocktails you aren't supposed to taste the booze.  If you do, than it's probably made wrong.  Unless you asked for a Martini or something.

Wine is really tough.  Ask for something less dry - look for a Gerwurtztraminer or Riesling for white and Gamay/Beaujolais, a Zinfindel (not a Rose-type zinfindel) or Amarone, perhaps.

I don't drink to get drunk because it isn't worth it, but I'd rather drink wine or beer than pop or juice because most of it is a lot healthier for you.  If you like to jog or play sports beer is really great to drink (responsibly) after a workout.

Stay away from corporate beers.  Most use rice malts and sugar additives - really bad for you.  If you're drinking Budweiser I strongly suggest sticking to Ginger Ale.

Most of them just use distortion of some kind, but disturbing still.

Well, I'm not trying to 'own lems', I'm just disproving a supposed fact and cleaning up a stain that is ignorance.

I find it funny nobody mentions MLB12: The Show. Sure there is a version of it on the Vita, but it's stripped down and a totally different experience, therefore MLB 12 is technically considered a PS3 exclusive as you can't get the exact same experience through the Vita version (Who owns that anyway?). Now regardless of how you view Journey, you have to take into consideration that the tc does not view it as a retail, even though it has a box set, but it isn't sold as a singular game. I'll allow tc to have that since he made the rules.

So, that leaves one PS3 exclusive in the top 60 games of the year (I don't know why Mass Effect is in there, did it get a re-release?). If you refuse to agree with that...whether you choose to be ignorant or otherwise it is important to know that the PS3 version of MLB 12: The Show received a different score on Metacritic then the PS Vita version, thus proving MLB 12 on the PS3 is exclusive to the PS3 and MLB 12 on the Vita is exclusive to the Vita even though you can continue one game from one console to the other. Different experiences, different games, different consoles.

This can end because exclusives only cover a small amount of the market, and franchises that once were previously exclusive have gone multiplat anyway. So why does it matter?

All 'swag' is is a replacement word for 'ballin'' or 'pimpin''. It's basically the same idea.

However, I'm under the impression there are two types. 'Black people' swag and 'white people' swag. When a black guy dresses like a white guy (shirt, sports coat, loafers) and when a white guy dresses like a black guy.

It's pretty stupid and very 'hipster'-y, and I believe requires crotch squishing pants.

I'm done for this sale. I got:

Alan Wake
Beyond Good & Evil
Bullet Storm
Dead Island
Dear Esther
Dungeon Defenders
Hard Reset
Krater
Just Cause DLC
Legend of Grimrock
LIMBO
Max Payne 3
Psychonauts
Recettear
Risen
Thief Bundle
Ys: Oath of Felghana
Ys: Origins

=$97.90

Not bad.

I would have liked to pick up Arma II, but Arma III looks to be due out at the end of September and 40% off just wasn't going to cut it. Rayman: Origins, but it needed to go on a 75% deal for me to buy it. I was also tempted buy GTAIV and a couple others.

You can get Risen 1 for free from Gamersgate by using their VOID program.

It's tempting, but it sounds like such a hassle, signing up and yadda yadda...I'm a lazy North American.

Not a huge haul but I picked up:

Hard Reset
Ys Origin
Ys Oath of Felghana
Max Payne 3
Psychonauts
Dead Island
Legend of Grimrock
Dear Esther
Limbo
and Just Cause 2 extras

I also have Recettear and Theif collection in my cart. Going to pick up Recettear for sure but not sure about Theif.

Also, I'm waiting to see if Risen I drops to 75% off, but not likely. And maybe I'll pick up Dungeon Defenders if it hits daily sales and some friends pick it up. I'd like to see Arma go on sale, but if not, I'll wait for Arma III. I really want Civ V Gods and Kings to, but I can wait, that's what Dead Island is for. I was disappointed Anno 2017 didn't have a bigger sale.
