Thanks for the replies, I guess I'll go Java first then. Part of why I ask is I'm wondering which language is more useful today?

Uncharted 2 had quite a few, especially the opening on the train. As a PC gamer I was amazed a console could produce quality like that. God of War 3 for many of the same reasons as Uncharted.

Which do you all recommend? I'm more of a web developer and currently do HTML, CSS, PHP, and Javascript so I would think Java would be the way to go...but I have an equal interest in C# and would love to learn that side of things as well. What do you all think?

I have a dual core and I can safely say they are essentially obsolete. Most games can be modified to run with them like black ops which took some work to get it going smoothly as it's clearly meant for quad. I would say most new games will require it for sure especially as their not nearly as optimized as they used to be.

I have the Playstation 3 version as well and believe me it's a million times better on PC. Pulling off precise shots seems much harder than other console FPS's and the graphics (no surprise here) are not too purdy after playing the PC version. Still impressive for consoles, but I've been spoiled by my computer.

Personally I think the single player is pretty good. It's not any shorter than any other FPS game out right now and I felt like my 5 hours were more entertaining than the others were. Not to mention the multiplayer is extremely sweet. I'll be keeping and playing mine for sometime and now it's up to MW3 to see if it's any better. ^Compared to BC2 it does have A LOT more scripted events which is the one thing I actually didn't like so much. Too many quick time button pressing events, which is something I think is getting old quick in games.

I have seen some skilled dudes rape people on the ground with them, but rarely. They probably could have been left out of multiplayer altogether....but then again when I'm losing it's fun to fly around and look pimp hoping my bullets hit something :)
