It will not require a CONSTANT connection though, but it needs to be connected once every 24 hours. Games you buy are linked downloaded to your xbox and linked to your profile, if you want to play on another xbox, you have to have an internet connection to retrieve your profile to play the game. If you buy a secondhand game, you need an internet connection to pay a fee to play the game. So no, it is not a constant connection, but you still need one. And this does not make it much better.
What if the xbox live service or their servers shut down in the future? You can't play anymore and all the entertainment you spent your money on becomes unusable and worthless?
This is just too lame. I'd just like to be able to have a console, have a game, and what do you know it works when I add them both together. I don't want to have to have the internet just to retrieve my profile to assess whether I'm the 'original' purchaser of the game, and charge me if I'm not. What if xbox live goes down far into the future? And I've bought a used copy of a game, I can't use the 'service' to pay the charge to play it? Or if I can't sign into my profile, my original game I purchased full price won't work? That would open up a whole can of worms.
Nope. Nope nope nope.
I hope those 15 exclusives and 8 new franchises aren't very good, cause I'll be looking for a reason not to get Xbox One now.
I actually think the IllumiRoom is pretty cool and can see it enhancing my gaming experience. Way better than Kinect. But unfortunately I've just got no use for it because I don't play in the living room, I plug my xbox into a monitor on my desk and play like I would while PC gaming. In fact I don't think I could even make it work in my living room, young people like me renting one bedroom places don't have much space
@sethfrost @ahpuck @macca366 I'll be honest though, I liked that part in the game myself. It was a shocking contrast to be shown a beautiful city then quite suddenly been shown its terrible values with the lynching of an interracial couple and everyone after you at once. Contrast is good. But it didn't show enough for the duration of the game. That is to say, there were too many shooting galleries and not enough slow moments based on exposition or exploration. And the non-violent moments were the most interesting and exciting.
@ahpuck @macca366 I remember playing Halo with my little cousin, his Mum was watching behind us. Then I realised she was going to flip the moment I unleashed a full clip from a machine-gun into an aliens face, spurting purple blood. We do take it for granted I guess
I had a weird moment last night where I thought I'd share some gaming with my girlfriend. So we were playing Bioshock Infinite, and then I suddenly got incredibly self-conscious the moment the violence started, it amplifies how shocking ripping a guy's head off with a spinning hook or shooting cops in the head is when you're doing it in front of someone who isn't exposed to it like you are all the time (through video games)
