The image itself is a confirmed fake, a photoshop by a user called C-Ron on reddit.

The name Xbox infinite - along with 720, fusion, etc.. - have been around for a while. Microsoft trademarked Xbox 8 last year too. The only allusion there being the 8 sideways is the infinity symbol.

I personally think its a neat symbol. Not that it matters.

@Iranazi @Iranazi @shamzz17 I had a friend who got depressed and in a bit of danger close to the end of high school, the root of it was the pressure of wanting a high enough enter score to get what he wanted at university, otherwise he felt like his future was forfeit somehow. You're not alone in how education can seriously affect you mentally. My girlfriend has called me in tears more than once this semester in her last year of university, because of her stress.

That prior friend bounced back very quickly as soon as high school was over, he finished his journalism degree last month, and is still travelling around america (where he spent the last semester as an exchange student) having awesome times.

I got a bad enter score despite getting straight A's on virtually everything cause of a couple of loopholes. Despite that, after a year, I transferred into the course I originally wanted to do, credits all counted, and got the bachelor's I wanted after all in the same amount of time as if I was accepted straight away. Failing that, TAFE (assuming you're australian) isn't a bad route to take at all. My sister did TAFE for a year in film and media, and the next year she already got a job in the industry. There's always pathways to take no matter what happens.

I also had two friends in high school not interested in uni at all. Both instantly got apprentices in carpentry and manual labor stuff. One's quite happy, the other literally put a deposit down on a house a year ago and is already paying off a mortgage.

I hope any of that comforts you, man

You know I was clinically depressed for a period of four years or more, to the point of being hospitalised as an in-patient in a psychiatric ward for an extended period of time. While not a 'cure' by any means, as described in the video and Danny himself, video games were a great way to get distracted from mental anguish and spirals of thoughts. I also found (in addition to professional help) seeking help online in chat rooms great not only for distraction, but feeling human connection whilst otherwise socially avoidant. I'm sure this is combined nicely in social and multiplayer games. Its just coping, but believe me - unless you've been clinically depressed you cannot quite understand how real and painful mental illness is - you need all the coping mechanisms you can get.

That was almost five years ago, a very determined road involving desensitisation, strength of will, exercise, constant social interaction and bravery got me out. No clinical depression, no dysfunctional anxiety for a long time, and I don't see it coming back. I wish anyone suffering from mental illness the same success and life I have now (Its brilliant). I graduated with a bachelors in psychology this year, and hope to go on to my masters, be a psychologist and help other people. Also, Clare is a trooper!

Yeah because I want to buy the next xbox to do all the same things I can do on this very laptop. Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, Hulu, Netflix, ESPN.. Why would I want to do any of that stuff on an xbox anyway?

Its always about the games, I haven't used any 'service' or extra features provided by xbox, I don't need them. I just need games. We already own devices that do 'TV and entertainment', this is a gaming console FFS.

Nintendo is interesting, on one hand there is a lot of rehashing, but on the other hand, they are very innovative too. I could be wrong, but I think Iwata's criticism in here is not aimed at Nintendo's competition, but the industry as a whole, including themselves. If that's the case, its good to hear they have insight into what they do. Whether its true or not, I think the news that the WiiU is lacking first-party support due to quality control is good. Its braver to hold out for quality rather than shovel a mario and zelda out to move the system early

If its multiplayer only, it better be reeeeeally fun. I have no interest in this, but to give credit where credit is due, these guys created the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (great game) and the winning formula Activision has unfortunately run into the ground and made millions off of. This will have to be pretty impressive, otherwise the only FPS-related thing next gen that's on my radar is Destiny

I think its awesome. It would definitely augment my game experience for the better. Can imagine a noir-style level, the rain illusion dripping in the room etc. Not that it will necessarily move games forward, but definitely an enjoyable feature. Of course, I stopped playing xbox in the living room years ago, I just sit at my desk and play it through my PC monitor. Not sure if I could go back to sitting so far away from the screen..
