My overclocked e8400 and voltmodded 8800's smoke a system with an i7 and GTX 295 in benchmarks. The results speak for themselves...superclockedThats an answer i like to hear...( does it for performance ) .. But i do know people do it just to do it...
Only crazy people ?...call me crazy then =_=Only crazy people don't overclock, manufacturers deliberately underclock chips to increase stability on a mass produced product. Most CPU's can be oc'ed very comfortably indeed

Hi , im kinda bored so i decided to make a simple thread to know , Who is a overclock addict ?
One of the reasons im doing this is to know if people overclock for performance or just for the sake of it ..
People have said to me in forums : "OMG you should OverClock your rig SERIOUSLY caus its so lame if you dont"
My response to that is "How the hell would you know if i need a overclock. What if im fine with my performance ? I dont feel like shortening my cpu life span and buy a new cpu cooler when i dont really need it.."
If im totally wrong , please tell ..Im just new at all this so it gets confusing from time to time..
So , ARE YOU AN OVERCLOCK ADDICT ?8)
Nah, they can be released by different companies. In fact, with ATI, the cards can be completely different models ;)superclockedIm guessing Nvidia aint the same ?..(any models part )
erhhmm , idk if its dumb to ask this but here goes ...
If i would crossfire my HD 4890 from Powercoler .. For my second card , does it have to be from powercolor aswell ?
( took 4890 as an example , same question applies for other cards)
Basicly im asking if the 2 cards MUST be from same company brand in order to SLI/Crossfire ?
Over priced, not worth it with the 5850 already at sub $300 prices.nmahargThe card hasnt even come out yet . You don't know its performance . You may be right but i would say to wait until the card is released to see what it has to offer...imagine if it blows the 5970 out the competition 0.o
