A Bloody Week Finished

It's been a bloody few days for me since I last posted in my blog. Before the summer drought kicks in I'll be able to pick up Ninja Gaiden II for the 360. My gawd does it looks bloodier than any game I've seen in a while. It has kamikaze ninjas that crawl onto you in desperation with detached limbs and explode, clouds of blood that flow off blades as seen below in the image, and intenstinal tracts can be seen from lacerated ninjas. It is a game I am looking foward to. Never have I seen so much gory detail in a video game.

Ninja Gaiden II

I also played the Codemned 2: Bloodshot demo. Not playing the original, I decided to give the sequel a chance. The game is impressive...visually. The combat gets boring quickly though.

Codemned 2

The new Gears of War 2 gameplay footage has convinced me that this game is a must buy for me. It's going to put a lot of 360's to work, and also send a lot of them to M$'s repair shop. The game looks incredible. Has anyone noticed Cliffy B. physique in the new video? It looks like he's bulked up since the last time I've seen him.

Gears of War 2

I also watched some bloody movies last week. 28 Weeks Later was one of em. I didn't enjoy 28 Days Later. It's an overrated movie, and 28 Weeks Later is much better. The sense of hopelessness, the unrecognizable talented thespians, and, of course, the blood made it a film that was much worth my time. 28 Days Later had all of this, but 28 Weeks Later had a better plot.

28 Weeks Later

There Will Be Blood disappoints due to the lack of bloody scenes. The title is kind of misleading. Yes, there was blood, but not a lot of it. Other than that, the movie was a great watch. Throughout the film I didn't know whether to laugh or feel disgusted during some scenes. Those with a dark sense of humor would appreciate a movie like this more. The preacher really creeped the hell out of me.

There Will Be Blood

..my bloodlust has been satiated for now. Now, I am off to try and finish Metal Gear Solid 2 on Extreme mode before Metal Gear Solid 4 is released. So far, I'm having a tougher time than I expected with MGS2. I don't think I'll beat the game before MGS4 comes out, but I'll try. :D

EDIT (5:08 P.M):

I forgot to mention the other bloody movie I saw last week. It was called Branded To Kill. It's an old Japanese movie with lots of psychotic characters, lots of nudity, and lots of blood. The reason probably I forgot about it was I couldn't see the red coloring of the blood. I usually don't watch any movies that were released before 1970, but this one seems to have aged very well. I was dozing off, and then I heard screaming, was fully awoken, and my eyes became glued to the tv screen. It got kind of boring near the end though, so I eventually fell asleep. Overall, it was a good movie.

Pac Man Explained

Found this awesome picture on the net just now. What I love most about it are how the four ghosts are portrayed. I just love the skulls. Something about the human skull's structure that fascinates me. I've always enjoyed the old school ****of Pac Man. Every now and then I'll play "Pac Man Champion Edition" on X Box Live, and it's still a lot of fun especially with the glowing neon lights and the added electronic music. Still, I don't think I'll be able to look at Pac Man the same way again after seeing this picture.

I'm Ecstatic! Chance for Skies of Arcaida sequel!

Vyse Valkyria Chronicles

Aika (valkyria chronicles)

I had given up hope for a sequel to one of the best games ever made, but I found out today that Vyse and Aika make a cameo apperance in an upcoming PS3 title called Valkyria Chronicles. It probably won't be released outside of Japan. I don't really care, it's the fact that Sega hasn't forgetten about one of its masterpieces. This is probably a sign that the rumor is true about Sega working on a new Skies of Arcadia. I hope they don't screw it up by turning it into a hack n' slash-esque RPG. That seems to be the way a lot of JRPGs are going nowadays. *thinks about Crisis Core* :(

Down With Brits!

Code Geass

Code Geass airs tonight on Adult Swim @ 1:30 a.m. I'm relieved that Adult Swim is still airing new anime. I've been a bit apprehensive as of late since during the week the Adult Swim lineup is completely void of anime...up until the long running series Inuyasha comes on at 5 a.m. I have not lost all hope because of the fact that a brand new anime is showing up on the Adult Swim. However, this new show is airing very late. :( I hate to see anime no longer shown on Adult Swim. It would break my heart to see great shows like Death Note and Bleach replaced with atrocities such as Robot Chicken, Assy Mcgee, Tim & Eric Awesome Show, and Saul of The Mole Men.

Code Geass

I don't know much of the cartoon as of yet. It seems like it's one of those mecha fighting animes, and those are the types I tend not to like. There have been a few that I've enjoyed. Blue Gender and Big O (because of the music), but most often than not I rather watch another show. There's just something about mecha based animes that I can't put into words and describe why I have a distaste for em. The storyline is about Japan being under Brittania's rule, and they're trying to gain their freedom. The story sounds interesting, so I'll give it a watch.

Li, Chan, and Chicks With Whips

I saw the movie "Forbidden Kingdom" today, and I'm glad I did. I need a really good incentive to go out and see a movie in the theaters now a days. But, I couldn't pass up on this movie. It has both Jackie Chan, Jet Li, and hot Asian women like her:

White Haired Assassin

When she first popped onto the screen I was a little disappointed she wasn't using a sword. She was using the cliche whip as her choice of weapon. What's with so female fighters in movies, comic books, games, etc. using whips anyhow?

Wonder Woman CatwomanWhip

Zero Suit Samus Franziska Von KarmaJessie

Ya, I get it. Female fighters have whips because it makes them look both scary and sexy (think dominatrix) at the same time. But, enough is enough already!

Jet Li vs. Jackie Chan

The fight scenes were something watch. Jackie Chan and Jet Li, of course, fought. Otherwise, if they hadn't, it would've been a waste of 15 bucks to see the movie. I was amazed at how fast these guys still are. They're both past middle age and they can seemingly pull off moves, maneuvers, and stunts very easily. I'm pretty sure those two were hurtin after each night of filming. As for the story, it was "meh". The costume designs, fight scenes, and the cinematography helped forget about that though. Overall it was a good film. It was definetly worth the time and money to see Li and Chan swing at each other.

Moments of Zen In Gaming

Zen symbol

I've chosen the word "Zen" because it's closest thing I can think of what I'm trying to describe. I've been playing games for a very long time now. It's like I was born with a controller in my hand. A lot of times I don't realize some of the things I do unconsciously. Like everyday simple things like washing the dishes, cooking food, making up my bed, and waking up at 8 am every single day no matter what time I went to bed regardless if I have to be somewhere or not without an alarm clock. Then there are more complex tasks I sometimes do unconsciouslly. Like driving, typing, taking very easy tests, drawing, and even playing video games.

I've noticed when I play games after growing accustomed playing for a long time, like Street Fighter III: Third Strike, I play best when I'm distracted by something. Say if someone enters the room when I'm playing against the CPU, and they want to talk about something. I have to divert most of my attention to the unwanted conversation, but I am still playing the game. After that person leaves I'm surprised that I've performed better than usual. I'm getting B's instead of the usual C's, A's instead of the usual B's. It amazes me! Then I put all my focus back on the game again. I am now scoring the same, and back at my perceived "best".

After finishing up No More Heroes today, I realized I also had a moment of Zen while playing. I was having a tough time with the near end bosses, so I was kind of giving up just taking in the fact that I was almost done with one of the best games ever made. I was goofing around, and I found a way to beat those tough bosses. As of right now, I'm trying to acheive this moment of Zen in other games like Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It's tough losing focus with so much going on during combat. I'll try the same with Ikaruga because trying to get through the game fully focused will probably drive me crazy.

I don't do none of the boring meditation stuff, nor am I into any eastern religions, but I think I may have experienced this so called "moment of Zen" a very long time ago.

Gripes about Super Smash Bros. Brawl Online Players

I've been kicking ass on Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and for the most part it's a blast when the game doesn't lag or when I come across players like these...

I'm just here to take up space: I get into a match with these morons every so often. Nintendo didn't put a ranking system in, have a win or loss record, or any point system at all added to the SSBB's online. So, of course there are players that know this and aren't going to take matches seriously. These idiots will join a match and will either go afk the entire time or just taunt with the most annoying characters like Captain Falcon or Pit. I know I can just disband group and go seeking another, but it isn't always easy to find matches. I wish Nintendo would've allowed screen names at least, so I can block these players who probably do nothing else but take up space in real life as well.

I like staying in my comfort zone: I forget the name, but it's the 2nd to last stage where you have to fight against four CPU players before battaling Master Hand. Its a popular choice among many players. I can understand why. It's just one dull small blue platform, and it doesn't have other platforms so it won't cause too much confusion. Pick another freakin stage!

I'm superior: Losing sucks! I try different maneuvers, I choose different stages to see if they're only good in certain areas, and I might even choose another character hoping the superior is weak against that particular. But, that player doesn't seem to have any weaknesses. It gets very irritating after watching characters like Yoshi and/or Kirby do their winning poses over and over again. Especailly when you're not controlling them. The better players are just better, and there's nothing I can do about it until I prove to them that I can come in 1st place. Sometimes they will drop out of the match before I can get a chance to do so. I can't get in contact with them again for a rematch since the players are anonymous. Nintendo has really f'ed up SSBB online. :)

Video games still a scapegoat...?

Barack Obama caricature

Obama talks video games

I'm tired of all the bashing video games get from the psychologists who get too much attention from the media. I'm tired of video games being used as a scapegoat when a parent forgets how to parent. I'm just tired of all the ignorant comments going around. The politicians don't help because they don't know jack **** about video games either. Neither do the psychologists that come up with these bull**** studies. Maybe just...just maybe there is someone out there who has the eyes and ears of the uninformed tv viewers who believe everything that comes out of that television set.

Why are video games getting so much attention anyways? Shouldn't the politicians be focusing more on important stuff..like the the US economy being on the verge of a recession, the United States being unable to defend itself from an attack due to Operation Iraqi Freedom...if that's what it's called now, and the bad education system?

...oh, and Barack Obama said something about video games in that link I posted. I think he's on the right path to finding the truth about video games.

I got 5 things you should know about Majadamus.

Okay, I'm doing this "5 facts things". So, here they are:

1) I am an aspiring cartoonist/writer. The moment I saw my first episode of He-Man: Masters of The Universe (Original), I knew, right then and there, at the age of five, what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I use to spend a lot of my free time as a child drawing, and typing out stories on a computer with a program called "Word Processor"....I think that's what it's called. I use to play video games a lot less back then, and today it's the exact opposite. I am still focused. I'm just thinking of new ideas....ya, that's it...

2) Deep House is my favorite type of music. It use to be hip hop up until the year 98 ended, and became the trash it is now.

3) I've recently gotten into manga. I'm currently reading XXXholic, Monster, Case Closed, Naruto, and Welcome to NHK. With Case Closed, Monster, and Uzumaki being my favorites.

4) I'm a huge science fiction fan. I rather enjoy this type of media in book form. Books usually go into better detail describing the made up universe I'm trying to get engrossed in. I am also a Star Wars fan. Unlike a lot of Star Wars fans, I don't hate Star Trek. I just don't care for it.

5) About my personality. Some might say it's tough to figure someone out over the net, but if you've argued with me (or have seen me argue) on the forums you will notice I am often called a smart ass by posters when the moderators aren't watching. And from a third party perspective coming from "real life" I've been described recently as: "aloof" "prude" and "funny".

Well...there ya go.
