best thing to Do, go here: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/the_witcher_2/#1311737034

register and post your problem. The devs are usually there to help out. Trust me, you're better off there than here. Good luck and happy gaming.

the majority of console gamers don't give a **** about pc gaming, and vice versa for pc gamers. there's really no need for "debate".

savagetwinkie

For some reason this post reminded me of another interesting point:

For a PC-only gamer to adopt console gaming, they have to invest a fair bit of money for extra hardware. You have to convince them that their $300+ is going to be money well spent.

On the other hand, a console-only gamer generally already owns a PC. It may not be the best PC, and may be limited in the settings games can be played at, or even limited in the games that can be played at all. But it *can* play games. They just have a stubborn refusal to accept it as a gaming platform. And it gets really silly when they post derogatory comments about a platform using the very platform they're posting derogatory comments about. It would be like purchasing an Xbox 360 just to turn around and send a message out on Xbox LIVE that Xbox 360's suck and then proceed to use it exclusively as a DVD player. And they'll do things like argue that PCs are too expensive, while simulatenously owning a PC. It just gets to the point of total absurdity.

no a lot of console only gamers might have a PC like a netbook or something, up until Llanos came out you really couldn't buy a general PC that can effectively play games decently enough to give a decent experience. In fact I think this is what turns a lot of people off from PC gaming is because they try to run the game on a bare minimum system, it causes tons of problems, and they look at that experience like thats the only experience they'll get from trying to play PC games. To some extent even with decent hardware PC's generally will have more system specific problems, and when I say system specific I mean on an individual basis, the platform itself can find configurations that work wonderfully but that doesn't mean everyeone will have a wonderful experience. This is why most console games stick to consoles, their dedicated gaming machine appart from cooking itself to death, will always reliably give a playable expierience.

alas, the quirks of open platforms.

If you prefer Party games, Platformers, JRPG, Fighting games, Action-Adventure then go for consoles/handhelds.

If you like WRPGS, FPS, TPS,MMORPGs and Strategy games go for PC.

Graphics discussions are silly. Everyone knows the best games have excellent gameplay first and graphics second.

good point. But you gotta admit, there seems to be some kind of envy in these anti pc threads that keep popping up all over the place. It's almost like the topic creators need

some kind of justification for their consoles. Buyer's remorse? maybe. (btw I own a ps3, impressive machine it is, but I love pc gaming so much more)

::sigh::

Think about it for a minute. Just use regular old simple logic and rational thought.

Do you really think that heavily compressed, low resolution you tube videos are equivalent to the actual game running on a screen?

I'm hoping you come to the obvious conslusion: NO.

Have you seen a game running on a decent PC? Oh and by the way, a decent gmaing PC does NOT cost 6x as much as a console, don't be ridiculous.

Look, the bottom line is that PC hardware is about 10x as powerful as console hardware. Consoles couldn't handle a game like Shogun 2 or Crysis 1, or Metro 2033 maxed out.

And yes the difference between 1080p+ resolution, 60+ FPS, high resoltuion textures, much more realisitc and detailed lighting/shadowing, lots of more complex 3d meshes/objects and AI, Anti-aliasing and Anisotropic filtering, Physics, and what the consoles offer is HUGE.

I've owned all current gen consoles. The difference is obvious to anyone with their fanboy glasses off.

Add to all that the huge modding community on PC, the larger multi-player communities, and the larger library fo games, and it's a no brainer, really.

savagetwinkie

actually after playing battlefield bad compnay 2 on a 720p tv with a PC and 360, the pc being able to easily max it out... 6850's in CF, there was very little difference. Granted my PC playing on a 1920x1200 monitor there is a noticable difference in how smooth everything looked, but not to the point i actually felt the need to care.

That'd because bad company 2 was a straight up multi platform game. Bf3 is built from the groundup as pc first. Play something like metro 2033 on pc and xbox 360 at the same time.

it's odd that some people don't even realise that the newer games are running on "UPDATED" SOURCE ENGINE. In case you missed it:

UPDATED!!!!

anyone here remember quake wars on pc, it used the mega texture technology on the id tech 4 engine, and that looked better than all half life 2 games on max.

Seriously, do some research before spouting crap about Carmack. The guy knows his stuff.

[QUOTE="KevinnButlerNPK"]

[QUOTE="Bazooka_4ME"] Pretty much my point: Indiana Jones > Uncharted >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 360, Wii in storytelling.TrapJak

You are obviously joking and have never played either Alan Wake or LO. What story did Uncharted tell? Here's the story of an Indiana Jones wannabe taking on 2 of the most retard armies in the history of gaming.

Better acting, betting dialouge, etc. Thats the storytelling everyone loves. LO's bad voice acting and Alan Wake's mess of a story doesnt produce a story "as flawlessy " as Uncharted. I repeat ,"I am not saying LO or AW's are bad", I'm saying that Uncharted presents it story better.

fanboy much?
