Oh yeah because we all know how your "vision" worked for those piece of shit prequels you did right Georgie? I have every expectation for this movie to be better than the prequels and return of the jedi by a *landslide*. George is a washed up writer who nearly drove his franchise into the ground. It's good that more competent minds have control of the canon now.

@iammcgruber: Exactly. If humans did achieve it, it would be kept from the general public and used only on the rich and powerful.

@metallinatus:

"Snake has enough reason to be in Smash because he appeared inone real game on a Nintendo console, and in some other games that are not even worth mentioning? You do understand how screwed up that logic is right?"

More viable than Cloud, who was in no real games on a nintendo console outside of a few cameo's in KHDDD and CoM

"Banjo is literally a Microsoft character, it has been for over a decade,"

Banjo is a RARE character and he only appeared on a microsoft console on the 360. All his games originated on Nintendo consoles except one.

The irony of you calling me a fanboy is fucking staggering, considering that you're trying to justify a character who has literally never appeared on a Nintendo console outside of two cameo appearances being in the game simply under the pretence that other characters are the same, even though it literally isn't true. You even went so far as to call Banjo a Microsoft character just to accuse me of hypocrisy. You're threatened by the prospect of someone saying Cloud doesn't belong in Smash simply because you're an FF7 fantard. The fact that you don't realize it despite the intellectually dishonest tactics you're using to justify it is astonishing

@metallinatus: He has enough reason to be in Smash because he "appeared" in one game on a nintendo console, in which he only makes a brief cameo appearance? You do understand how screwed up that logic is right, considering that there are hundreds of more viable options for smash characters that actually either A. starred or had significant roles in the games they appeared in? I may despise FF7 with a passion, but it's irrelevant. The fact remains that while there are plenty of more deserving third party characters, or even first party characters that could have been added to Smash, like Banjo and Kazooie, Chrono, hell - even FF characters that actually starred in Nintendo games, like Terra from FF6 or ANY FF protagonist before 7 - all of them would be a better fit than Cloud. It's completely random and backwards to put him int he game - and it's clear they just did it to appease fanturds. If you can't see why that's an issue, then hammering the point into your thick skull is pointless.

@metallinatus: You're actually comparing a few cameo's in a background to a character being added to the roster? Holy shit are you ever grasping at straws.

I don't care if certain games were Sony exclusives, or still are to this day. It's irrelevant - I was simply addressing the fact that the series isn't a sony exclusive franchise. The series started on the MSX2 - to this day only MGS and MGS4 and PO are sony exclusives - Sony doesn't own the rights to the series, it's 100% a third party franchise. Additionally, all that matters - let me repeat myself, ALL that matters is that the Twin Snakes was a gamecube exclusive, and that's why Snake was in Brawl. That's it. Was Cloud the star of any nintendo titles? No - therefore there's no justification for adding him to the game.

No matter how many straw man arguments and irrelevancies you can put up to justify Cloud's existence in Smash, the fact remains that there's no justification. Cloud being in the game isn't in 'any' way comparable to Snake being in Brawl.

@metallinatus:

"Why is Ryu in Smash?" Street Fighter 2's original home console release was the SNES

"Why is Pacman in smash?" NES release

"Why is Sonic in Smash?" Because Nintendo owns Sega thus making Sonic their property

I could go on and on with your list but do you know what all those characters you listed have in common? They've all had their own games on Nintendo consoles. Has Cloud? No.

"And to end this here, MGS is almost a PlayStation franchise, unlike FF, and that is enough to make Snake much less eligible than any character from Final Fantasy."

> to end this here. lmao MGS started on the MSX2, not the Playstation - and besides the very first Metal Gear Solid [excluding TTS] and 4, none of the games have been Sony exclusives. It's hardly a sony console, and Snake being in Smash can be justified with the same logic I applied to Sonic, Pacman and Ryu. They've all. Had. Their. Own. Nintendo. Games. Is it that hard for you to comprehend that? ~ONE OF THESE CHARACTERS IS NOT LIKE THE OTHER, ONE OF THESE CHARACTERS NEVER STARRED IN A NINTENDO TITLE~. Translation: Cloud doesn't belong in Smash. I don't particularly think Ryu and Pacman do either, but that's another story entirely.

And yeah, SE may not push FF7 as much as the fans, but if you can't see why people are sick of seeing Cloud and Sephiroth all over the place - I'll explain. It's the fans that push FF7 in everyone's faces - not the developers. It's an overrated piece of shit of a game and having it infect Smash does feel a little invasive, yes. I'll admit to a bias there, but it doesn't change the fact that Cloud has no place in Smash.

@metallinatus: Hate to break it to you just because the series Cloud is from originated on Nintendo consoles doesn't mean jack shit. Snake has far more merit on being on a Nintendo console than Cloud. Know why? Because rather than having a couple cameo's, like Cloud - Snake had his own game on a nintendo console. Albeit a shitty remake of MGS1, but still a game - exclusively on a nintendo console. If you pull Sephiroth's dick out of your mouth for a minute you'll probably be able to properly understand why people don't want FF7 shoved in their faces all the time. Out of all the FF characters that actually originated on Nintendo consoles, why do we get Cloud? It's as you said, the first six games came out on nintendo consoles - so why is Cloud the one who gets to appear in Smash, even though his character was from the first game not on nintendo consoles?

@mesome713: Oh my mistake. Then this decision is even more baffling to me now.
