Example; If the majority of everyone buys cell phones, then nobody will bother investing in a company that makes the old wall phone.If cell phone bills become 2x the cost of old phone bills, you may not get to have any other option but to spend more each paycheck. Can you do without?

I am Male. Most RPG characters I play the same. Some games don't give any choice, though. One reason I would make a female is if I knew the game to be 'stacked'(pun!) in a female character's favor. Or if I was really drunk and wanted to perv cause of the rendering being 'easy on the eyes'.... :O
Sim City 2000 for the PS (without a PS mouse)
A-10 Tank Killer for PC. whyOwhy
-You didn't say what gen- Gilligan's Island for the NES. I still feel the horrible burn from that- to this very date.
Hmmm. Not necesarily the death of gaming as we know it, more likely just many peeps getting jaded for 'sexier' stuff to give them the gamer's "O" Face and sooner.
If you went all the way with a hotty once, you can end up comparing everything else to only that.
I've gone into Retro-Gaming hibernation at the moment. Some older titles that have endured-still fun to play despite their date-are keeping me company right now. When my being game-jaded thaws out, I'll just pick up the current new ones everybody else already proved worthy (at half the cost) and start again.
Maybe. Gaming might be ageless for all we know, but gamers aren't. We'll see.
I went to GameFaqs so I could CHEAT on some PSOne game (Tomb Raider?)( like ya'll never did that )and saw something called a 'Union' about another game I couldn't beat,in some other place called GameSpot.
I became hopelessly lost in a topic thread and various troll arguments I'd found, then my modem took a dirt nap after having a heart attack from trying to dload a user video about the graphic depiction of Lara Croft's body. (That video is finally at 50% complete 5 years later), but alas,now I've been eternally damned to lurk about the GameSpot site as a ghost in the TAPS Union.
All for my cheat code crime against gaming..woe is me...
It's an internet forum. We all lurk, until we find something that seems worthy of posting. {SIGH, how much time we end up sitting here..sob..sob..}
There was only one real 'Poster'-the very first person to ever post. Everyone else was just lurking until that was done?
GameStop,GameSpot,GameCrazy,EBGames... meh. My horrid experiences have taught me if the place can put up a neon sign, and build other shops that are exactly the same everywhere...well... Somebody's making bucks and I'm not getting much back myself. Sure-they 'got the stuff', but they're gonna take most of mine for that honor.
I'd say eBay/amazon (in a whisper,anyway-Credit card involved, etc.) But my plastic isn't usually so great.
I do manage to find some local independant 'Mom and Pop store' merchant that's willing to cut a fairly decent deal, since they don't have a networked neon sign to power. Also-they realize there's a good chance that I know where they live, so they tend to be more user-friendly. Sometimes I'll even swap games with their kids. Like the old days of comic book trading in a tree fort... Not much in new games to swap these days anyhoo.
Thank you for the nice words. (those of you who offered them).
My wife and I just want a home to live out our days in, some kind of decent job and education (to leave for our kids to start a living) and no fear of some singular 'boss' taking all the above away. But as one of you said "..everybody is living that way." It IS difficult enough -for any human to do.
I don't agree with the war(s) either as an american. I'm inclined to say the heck with the rest of the globe, my country needs to fix itself right now. BUT: Look at what's going on here;
- we've read posts from several (I suppose) different citizens across the earth. WOW. {Hello!} By doing this,it becomes obvious that nations aren't isolated anymore. We bought Wii's from Japan, get computer support from Bangladesh (not meant as a joke), drink beer from Canada, drive cars from Europe, etc. Everybody is even swapping international insults insome other forum here I'm certain. Earth dosen't have an un-mapped area left. Stands to reason that whatever somebody buys/sells/speaks in some other hemisphere is going to be known fairly quickly elsewhere. Same for global economies and political standpoints. It's the 21st century. I say that every nation globally is 'feeling the burn' somehow, and regardless of who or what is to blame. The trouble is still here, and we all are some part of it. This is what ALL humans need to start working together on fixing.
Another one of you has the sig; (from Thomas Jefferson)"I don't agree with what you say, but will defend with my life your right to say it". In this International Forum of cyberspace, that statement is where we need to start from, or nothing will get fixed for anybody anywhere.
Maybe the way global humanity choses to live isn't supposed to be subject to some single nation or boss's idea? If we fix that, maybe the rest will follow?
Damn! You should move there right away, and take your Troll's Post arguments with you. BTW- get all your verbal hate out now while you can, because we're pretty sure that your Topic won't be allowed to be spoken or typed in reverse in your Nirvana of North Korea. Remember socialism can be a good idea-until they run out of other people's money to spend.
Also, sonny- keep in mind some of us americans here, and more than a few South Koreans,had relatives killed by North Korean soldiers back in the 1950's.
They died so you could now type up things like this topic on a computer without being taken out and shot. What a grateful chap you've become.
Have fun in North Korea!
