well, i just figured out intel mobos wont work with crossfire, so i will just stick with 8800 ultras, but im getting a asus stryker mobo, and it has this order of slots, e=express i= pci a=agp

a-e-a-e-i-e-i

snipercomplete

Intel mobos with 2 pci-e connectors support crossfire but not sli.

If a Sata hard disk is configured as IDE in the Bios, would it still have a transfer speed of 3 GB/sec ? Or do I have to set up a Raid in order to have 3 GB/sec speed ? Thanks.

For a 19 inches LCD I would recommend the LG 1953T 5ms. I have the 1952T 8 ms, not as good as the 1953T but I still love it. Text is very sharp, high contrast ratio and high viewing angle. If you plan on upgrading your video card then I suggest you get the Samsung 226BW.

Do you mean it should be 600/1400 ? In that case the memory clock should be 700 mhz (you have to multiply that by 2 to get 1400 mhz). What's the brand of your card ?

[QUOTE="CYSYKO"]

are you sure your not talking about SCSI drives?

ZBoater

Positive. I have the WD Raptor drives in my system. I also got a couple of 750GB Seagate SATA drives, and I had to configure them to 1.5GB/S using a jumper.

You can't have 3.0 Gb speed when using Raid 0 ? By the way Raid 0 offers very little performance gain in games and applications, it's just good for synthetic benchmark scores.

I can afford a 4000$ prebuilt pc, but for me part of the fun is to look for the best prices at etailers and calculate the sum + taxes using MS Excel lol. And the other fun part is building it.

Before I had 6.7 installed because anything 7 or above would crash STALKER after about 5 seconds of 1 frame per lifetime gameplay.

Vuud

I played Stalker without any problem with catalyst 7.1. It gets very slow only if I enable dynamic lighting. I've never had video driver problems with my 9800 pro and x800xl.

1 vote for x1950pro. Plus you can get the Asus x1950pro for cheap and the fan isn't loud.
