@VegasDawg @nomadski69 Coming from a world of Tridef and 3DVision it takes alot of CPU+GPU HP to drive high resolution Stereoscopic graphics. Good VR requires ether more HP or less complicated graphics to maintain a high enough frame rate.

Then again Sony was able to pull off Stereoscopic3D on the PS3 on a number of titles decently enough.

I'm thinking the Console "VR" will actually be "AR" (argumented reality) or Minecraftish/Quake/Doom quality graphics overlays.

While the "kickstarter" campaign was to bring $300 VR headsets to the masses, the box to drive them properly could easily cost ~5-10x as much as the headset itself.

I'd give it a 9.0. Decent: game play, length, crass humor and graphics. Looks GREAT in Stereoscopic 3D on 100" screen!

This title reminds me of shooters of old (Doom/Quake) with updated graphics and a sprinkle of story+humor for good measure.

Great single player game.

@tony_at_home @thesilverape Interesting concept. While players would 'expect' the game to play the same in whatever modes were tacked on, those tacked on modes end up effecting the SP game.

I have no use for PvP or MP modes. However Co-op would be cool.

Ahhh the eternal conflict between MMO and SP games: you can't make a single player game out of a MMO and you can't make a MMO out of a single player game.

In SP games the player EXPECTS their actions to change the world around them. Having items and events "re-spawn" on timers breaks the immersion. Conversely in multiplayer games (MMO) players expect these items to be available and any challenges presented require adhoc teaming up with other players in the area to get past and complete. Make a challenge weak enough for a SP and a MOB will breeze through it. Make it require a MOB and the SP will get stuck.

GW2 attempted (with some success/failure) to get around this with "dynamic leveling of content", making large MOB events and very restricted/limited instances.

While other games have dealt with the issues of already played content in better ways then what Kevin outlines here the problem is not unique. Unless two or more players always start at the same time+place, play, level and stick together for the duration of their "toon"s game play experience the content in almost all MP/MMO games will get out of "sync" with one or more players and break the experience.

Given that 1s=1000ms and 100ms(ping time) = 10FPS(server updates) I fail to see the attraction of online gaming in general or specifically MMO and "action" games that require the player to be online and exchange data with a remote server.

@Dannystaples14 Just get a job and earn some money.

While its rather silly that Sony is coming out with a VR headset that its newfangled gaming console could barely drive, let alone deliver resolutions and FPS high enough to satisfy modern gamers stereoscopic 3D virtual reality is the future of gaming but is going to cost you for the headset and the hardware to drive the display.

Then again, I likely have more invested in my sound system then you did on your entire sub 60FPS playing PC.

For the record: While many poopoo the game play TR provided the best S3D experience in gaming 2013 had.

Blacklist was not so bad. Surely not enough to be on this list.

(just watch the video - nether of them ARE on Jess's "worse of 2013" games list anyway)

My guess is that other sites can't copy+paste their content when its embedded in their video player so IGN and Gamespot are making even short articles into videos now.

MS and SONY have WAY more money and lawyers than a puny little company like "Gamespot". Most of the press have learned that they can ether "play nice" or risk losing access to information that they require to publish a "news" service and could get their collective butts sued off.

All reviews of all products are very much watered down because of this. A product has to be a complete and easily recognizable FAILURE for reviewers to write trash on something.

A video game is a visual medium that's the emphasis on quality visuals. Better visuals equals better immersion, better immersion equals more fun.

Egads! which do I dislike more: skipping a good game because it got fake bad reviews or buying a bad game that got a bunch of fake good reviews and getting nothing but a coaster for my coffee boo thanks for posting idiot.
