@galeta More advertising? More intrusive looks into your living room? (J/K) While developers in the last few years have amazed me with what they can do with 2005 era hardware and the 'next gen' might be better than very outdated DX9 hardware (~GTX8600, the current 'minimum' for DX9 PC games) expecting a 'next gen' console to deliver as good or better visuals than even a outdated GTX460 or GTX560 is wishful thinking at best and foolish at worse. These newfangled 'next gen' boxes are underpowered compared to current generation (GTX780) PC GPU hardware.

@SirNormanislost @nate1222 The clam-shell is handy for protecting the screen(s) from scratches. Is everyone really expected to carry their game system in a case?

I'm a bit torn here. While I enjoy the 3DS and the handful of quality titles I've gotten for it (I guess a few are remakes which I had never played on their other platforms) it would appear that Nintendo is having difficulty coming up with new IP/ideas and appealing to a wider audience. Releasing new titles with in existing franchises might be safe and of interest to existing fans and newcomers but once the 'cuteness' wears off and the game play becomes old+tired+same old thing I can't help thinking that their target demographic is "preteen" and users simply 'out grow' the Nintendo ecosystem and move onto more mature titles, complex game play and story lines found on other platforms.

Is it the limitations of the controls? Storage space? Or the 'wholesomeness' of the "G" rated Nintendo ecosystem holding the handheld platform back?

IMHO: They ought to introduce a few 'serial' titles in which new chapters or levels are down loaded as you complete portions of the game. This would help overcome the storage limitations of the platform.

Face it people, we've had just about everything else designed by 'formula' before. Many music groups, films+movies, Television shows - all sorts of entertainment follow known formulas.

Do you really think your favorite TV show is going to be much (if any) different one week to the next?

I've bought ONE CoD - the campaign sucks and I'm not into 'multiplayer warfare' so all the online crud collects dust. I don't think I bothered finishing it.

Maybe someday Activision will come out with something unique and interesting but I'm not holding my breath.

@epicgameresearc The PS3/PS4+Vita still has 100% more functionality than the way cool portable MS+Xbox1 game platform and controller. (oh WAIT! MS has NO portable gaming system. So no cross play, no streaming and no dual stick controller with screen for you XBOTS.)

@Glasscut32 @hadlee73 I've come to understand that if there is ANYTHING to whine about there will be whiners and trolls acting like its the END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT and harp endlessly on about it.

Egads - some peoples children. (sigh)

@dsb333 @mbloof DITTO, I already have. LOL However being a 'geek' I was online @ 300baud and running mail servers long before WIN95 introduced IE on the unsuspecting public.

@dsb333 @mbloof What people wanted was access to EMAIL and the WEB. Now that a PC is not required for that its no small wonder that PC sales are suffering.

I still use my 2001 era desktop. PC sales will continue to decline until what is left is replacement and totally new market purchases.

When 10yo PC's can do mostly everything but run modern "WIN7 or WIN8 required" games most people have no need or desire to upgrade. Do people really want to replace the XP box and then have to upgrade their scanner, fax machine, printer and whatever else they plug in that has no WIN8 drivers?

Most people never really needed or wanted a PC in the 1st place. Now that you can bank, email and surf on your cell phone or tablet (if you want a larger screen) a PC is only useful for those that REQUIRE it for their profession or the games they want to play.

I already own 3 desktops, 3 laptops and 2 netbooks. Why on earth would I want yet another PC?

Evolution - with each generation of games we've gotten more interesting sights and sounds. It all does not HAVE to be 'super realistic' - just look at BORDERLANDS2 and DISHONORED for recent examples of artwork that sold very well but did not follow the 'super realistic' theme.

The VISUALS are always important as these are video games we're playing. Good artwork costs good money for good artists to develop. No big surprise here. The somewhat silly part is that the game developers somewhat 'shoot themselves in the foot' by not making more use out of the content that they do develop. Every NPC, building and area ought to have a role with player interaction in the game, instead we get entire towns that might of taken weeks to develop and a 1/2hr to play through.

Hopefully with the next generation Consoles being more on par with current generation PC's there will be savings in the cost of development.
