Well, first off I would just immediately say to let the series die out already. But if people REALLY want a new Mega Man, how about resurging it in a new style the way Castlevania did with Symphony of the Night? Like, maybe a 2D side scroller with 3D backgrounds and interactivity? Use old school nods with brand new concepts. Or go FPS the same way Metroid Prime did.

YES! I would definitely care. The trophies help get more replay value out of games, plus also to compare yourself with friends and bragging rights. I also like that it can post to facebook or other social media. I think they're a great extra and I find myself avoiding buying older games which don't support trophies

oh, and if your system is less than a year old, you obviously have the manufacturer's warranty.

I have an old school fat PS3 (got it like 6 years ago now) and the fan only really turns on when I've been gaming a while (like a half hour to an hour) and if the tempurature in the room is too warm. Typically it always turns on when I play during the summer, as the room is warmer. During the winter the room is cooler and the fan virtually never turns on. The fact that yours does it initially upon boot up is questionable to me. If you could afford it I would remove the harddrive, get a new PS3 altogether and swap the harddrive in the new one.

I absolutely prefer HARD DISC copies at all times, I honestly don't know why people don't considering you're paying the same price. What people tend to forget is that after a while lots of these become collector's items, and can potentially be worth a good amount, or even for bragging rights. The ONLY time I download is if the game is ONLY available through PSN (Wipeout HD is one I own), or if it's add-on DLC for an already existing hard copy of a game. Even for people who aren't collectors it makes sense to buy physical (I am a collector myself). With physical copies you can do the following:

1) Lend them to friends, have them lend you games

2) Play them on other systems in case your system breaks down and you need to buy another, or if your HDD crashes

3) Sell them online for a good profit later on

4) Trade them in for new games or cash (you obviously can't Gamestop trade in your HDD copy, right?)

5) Buy used if it's cheaper and more practical

6) Help support the integrity of gaming as a culture overall. With more people supporting digital, game companies will care less and less about putting longtime features in games because they figure people wouldn't be able to play them practically anyway (such as offline coop play for 2 to 4 players; watering down of game difficulty; watering down of game lengths/content - companies will figure that downloading is so much easier than going out and buying a copy or waiting for it in the mail, so they can make money faster from people's itchy trigger fingers if they cut back on game development budgets... trust me they'll think of any way to milk us for higher prices with less quantity, food companies and restaurants do it already)

I'll settle with the very MINOR inconvenience of having to go out and buy a game, and then get the disc and insert it when I want to play, because being a gamer since the old school Nintendo days, I have an appreciation for real stuff. At least if you own a physical copy of a game you know the material on that physical copy CANNOT be tampered with. How easy will it be for game companies to start BS'ing us with changing of features and content in games every time we have a system update? Given the direction of bullcrap this country is moving in, don't be surprised if game companies start knickling and diming gamers, plus cheat them out of things due to various rights and terms of agreements, all because the customer technically does not OWN a physical copy of a game. They've already done it plenty with DLC content, what's to stop them from doing it with a game that is in itself a piece of DLC content!?!

Don't be fooled! Avoid digital when possible! This may seem paranoid, but honestly in this current day you really can't trust much of anything anymore.

[QUOTE="metalgrinch"]

Hey I'll go out on a limb and suggest to give Jesus a shot. Do something new, check out a church on Sunday morning. Or better yet, try to find one in your area that tailors more towards younger people. I've got a church I go to where there's a big young crowd on Sunday nights (typically sunday nights is when these churches like doing the 'young people' thing).

You may or may not be surpised how many friends or acquaintences you can make on your first try.

about 7 years ago I had no friends after breaking up with my g/f. I found a church, began attending, made lots of contacts, and now have a great group of people I consider life friends who I would have never had before. Not only that, but several groups I have a choice in attending throughout the week. I'm pretty blessed.

If you do, lemme know how it goes (or PM if you'd like further advice/help).

Well this post is a diamond in the rough. Suprised to hear such a response in a place like this. Glad to hear this, I would second this as well. I have many close friends in my church family as well. Be a part of the body of Christ.

Yea the fact that it's so surprising is def not a great thing. It just sounds like what this guy needs is people. And given that in my experience church has some very caring and thoughtful people (granted, lots aren't, it's complicated), it would seem a good place to start.

Modern FPS games play pretty similarly, I've never had a problem switching between any games in general.

I preorderd from Gamestop (there are no EB games where I am anymore, they all became Gamestops), and I got a code for it. The DmC facebook page said on numerous occasions that the DLC would be out on March 5th. Well, I popped in my game yesterday AND today, the 6th, and there is still NOTHING available on PSN in terms of the Vergil campaign. I'm not sure if Xbox has it yet as I have the PS3 version. ...but needless to say, this is bullcrap. I can't even check to see if the code works because as far as I know, the things hasn't even been released yet.
