this might seem rather odd, but here goes: i was playing Fallout 3 and tried a little experiment. I used a hdmi cable and xbox's component video cable. Color reproduction was better on the component video cable. Well, that's my opinion at least.
I bought 3 HDMI cables (22AWG) for basically a song. About $10USD. I was well satisfied for their timely delivery. Because I got such a thick cable, it made a heck of a difference watching Blu-Ray movies from my PS3 a pure joy. And yes, I would order from them again. BTW, I wish I could tell you about a price but I don't think anybody makes a 22 gauge HDMI cable. Monster maybe.
A 20GB machine? How old is that? yes, you should replace it. You got good taste. I know because that's the new 360 I'm getting. Might even put money on it tomorrow at Best Buy. Good things: 250GB HD. Never run out of space on that. I like it because I play games from installing them onto the hard drive. 2 controllers always nice. I'm giving MW2 away. I do like the art work on the box itself. good enough reason to get it right there.
Of course you can always run out and get a PS2. I do believe I got one of the last 80GB machines that support PS2 games. But only up to 75% of the PS2 games.
