[QUOTE="GTSaiyanjin2"]Does LoS really look better than GOW 3graphics wise, I keep seeing people posting that it looks better than GOW3. (all of these are my own direct feed shots btw)

I fail to see what's so impressive about these screens. All I see is slimy low res textures, some spikes that look like they came from a Nintendo 64 game, and a great character model. o_O

Thats the problem with God of War 3 is that the game is no doubt the smoothest game around & it helped the character models but the draw back is that the game has poor textures & too much blur in the game.

Yeah not easy trying to take a good screen shot with GOW3 too much motion blur, but not as much as LoS. These games look much better in motion, yeah I know all games look better in motion, but these games look pretty bad in pictures.

No i think god of war 3 looks better in pictures than in motion because of the MLAA & most people knows this. But though Castlevania :LoS still looks better in motin & its the most gorgeous game this year.

[QUOTE="Advid-Gamer"]

[QUOTE="FIipMode"] Castlevania has amazing graphics, it's really up there, not at GOW3's level but then again what is besides Uncharted 2.FIipMode

I think it is for sure, the fact that this is a multiplait game and it is on the 360 as well, I dont see anyone other then people that dont care about the console graphics war {like myself} admitting that this game looks just as good, it would crush the myth that GOW3 and uncharted cant be done on the 360. This place makes me sick

I'm not getting that, it's a fantastic looking game, just not really up to snuff with what GOW3 puts out at times (plus framerate problems). I don't think it's about console graphic warriors not admitting it, that has nothing to do with it, it's just a game that doesn't look as good to most people.

Forget about what the devs said about god of war 3 pushing this & that in graphics department or using blueray disk,the fact remains that when you put castlevania side by side with god of war 3 you'll notice that castlevania matches god of war 3 visual aspect & even surpass in some area especially in artstyle.I enjoyed god of war 3 & it looks nothing short of great but i'll admit that castlevania :LoS looks better. And mr the retail version castlevania:los has no framerate issue it is the demo & review version that has the issue.

[QUOTE="djsifer01"]i played Catlevania all day yesterday and im at the end of chapter 2. Its a great game and alot bigger than GOW3. GOW3 is far better graphically has alot smoother combat and way higher production values. GOW3 is by far the higher quality game.texasgoldrush
there is artistic graphics and techinical graphics.....GOW III is better techinically, but Castlevania destroys GOW III in art design. Check gamespots awards, they hand out two different ones.

And in the end it is the art design that realy makes up the vissual & it what we get to notice more on tv when playing the games.That is why castlevania looks so good when compared to god of war 3. Art style is still the reason why uncharted 2 looks great.

[QUOTE="WAJ"]

I agree, it''s better than GOW3, both graphically and gameplay-wise (more variety).

2Chalupas

Graphically? LOL. No. Not even close.

Castlevania does have some nice art design, maybe you are confusing "art design" with graphics. And there is alot about Castlevania that I find I like just as much or more than I liked GOWIII (music, story, voice acting all are better so far, or at least they are more compelling to me). But then the story is probably more fresh for Castlevania becasue it's been awhile since I truly enjoyed a Castlevania game, whereas GOWIII was basically just a conclusion to a trilogy.

I do think Castlevania was grossly underrated by gamesepot and ign, but it definitely has to be slotted somewhere a little beneath God of War 3 on a pure "ratings" basis. Castlevania has some issues with camera that GOW doesnt' have, GOW is much "cleaner" looking graphically, In Castlevania while the art design is great, it's also hard to make out some things in the environment which is why they constantly have to highlight them for you, and my main knock on Castlevania is some of the level design is a little weird. I'm constantly going over to ledges and areas it looks like you can jump up and find something hidden, but you can't get there at all. Combined with the wonky fixed camera sometimes you don't know where to go, and there's already been some levels where I'm looking around trying to figure out which ledge to get to, hit R2 and all of a sudden my dude jumps BACKWARDS to an area off the screen and somehow that's it, that "invisible jump" is the end of the level. That just seems a little unpolished to me...

So far my opinion is it's definitely behind GOWIII, but the 7.5 is maybe a little harsh. It probably deserved another point or so (on gamespot scale).

I disagree with you graphically or artistically or what ever way you put it what i know is that when pop in castlevania & god of war 3 i still find castlevania more vissualy stunning because both god of war 3 & castlevania are not going for realism they are both going for artstyle & castlevania wins handsdown. Nuff time fighting titans on my ps3 time to fight titans on my 360 :)

Easily, IMO...i'm having a blast playing it.

First of all the combat is perfect, yes it is similar to GOW, but why shouldn't it be? the combat works and does it better due to the developers better mapping the controls. Combot plays and looks better.

Graphics GAMEPLAY-wise..looks better than Gow 3 from textures to character detail, gow3 only looks better in cutscene form (characters)

platforming/puzzles are better and overall so far it's much more balanced/consistant when it comes to action/platforming/puzzles, etc over gow 3

I believe i'm half way through the game and damn is it amazing. Story is profound and does some of the best voice acting i've seen.

I don't see why people are complaining that it isn't castlevania because it isn't 2d, what did they expect? get with the times and i can't see any other gameplay mechanic added for such a game..so the GOW like style is common sense for the type of game and it simply WORKS. This whole nostalgia crap is rediculous.

Both IGN and Gamespot reviews are a joke!

This is of course MY OPINION.

I **TOTALLY** agree with you plus the fact that Castlevania is a 20+ hours game while God of War 3 is an 8 hours game makes Castlevania:LoS a pure winner.
