So unfortunately I can't shell out $300 for an 8800gts 320mb, even though I have the money, my parents won't let me buy a $300 vid card is what the problem is. So I've been looking at good dx9 cards for $100-$200 dollars, and I found an x1950xt for $150 dollars after rebate at newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102067

Would this card run well on this PSU? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817153023&Tpk=thermaltake%2b430w

Also, would this game be able to max out all current games (BF2142 and other labor intensive games)? According to this: [url]http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_2007.html?modelx=33&model1=724&model2=717&chart=318/[url] it definetly can.

I've got an opprtunity to buy a new gaming computer with a budget of something around 1700$. The question is: Should I buy a computer now, or wait a few month until all the good games are out because meanwhile the prices of the hardware will get lower.

Wait till around November when the Penryn's are supposed to be released. FYI Penryn is the codename for Intel's new processer that is based on the 45nm micro architecture unlike the core 2 duo's which are 65nm.

What will perform better, two 8600gt's, or one 8800gts 320mb?

8600gt: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130085

8800gts 320mb: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130082

My dad doesn't want me to spend over $200 on a video card, but I still want to know what works better. Also, will the dual 8600gt's be able to run BF2142 maxed out at 1024x768 with 4xAA? Also, how will dual 8600gt's be able to run Crysis, Bioshock, etc.?

I was looking the 2600XT's benchmarks a while ago and liked what I saw, besides DX10 that is. I think it is pretty much my best bet for a graphics card as I don't have a 6 pin PCI-e power plug on my PSU. My question is, should I even bother getting a 2600XT or is there something better out there?

P.S. I have a PCI Express slot if you couldn't figure it out.

[QUOTE="dayaccus007"]On 22 July I will get E6750 and one more thing, E6600 will be cheaper than 183$ I think 150$ like X2 6000 maybe Hellsing2o2

I'm going to wait for the E6850 which is faster then the X6800, And I think it will sell for $266.

The e6850 comes out the same day as the price drop.

how much will it cost to get a cord that will connect our computers together (25 foot cord).

is it possible to set up a lan with one comp using XP, and the other using vista

and tell me everything I need to knowabout setting up a lan

thanks guys

Juglo

Well, it is called an ethernet cable (cable, not cord), and it will cost how much u want it to cost (stealing, or buying). Yes it is possible to LAN, otherwise people wouldn't have huge LAN's such as PDXLAN and Showdown LAN, etc. Another option, if you can't afford an ethernet cable, is to have a fight with your computers. Whoever can knock the other unconcsious first wins.

(re post cause i posted in wrong topic)

Just bought a new rig , these are the specs :

-Core2duo E6600 2.4ghz

- 8600gts MSi Overclocked Edition 256mb ,CoreClock 800

- 2 gig ram

- 250 gig hard-drive

- Windows Vista

-450 watt(?) powersupplie

My question is , is it normal i get sluttering in these games :

-battlefield 2 on high i get fps drop for half a second every min the same with Day of defeat Source and CS Source but little less.

-The sims 2 when i zoom in and out i get 1 second slutter

- Oblivion on high i get, when outside good enought fps (40) but every min i get just a second or so a frame skip .

Is it Vista? , Should I go back to XP? ,

My ram is never fully used neither is my Cpu power ... I dont get it somone told me he had an ati x1650pro with vista and didnt get any lag at all ! So what is it??? Plz post up suggestions to clear this up, theyWILL be appriciated.

The problem is that I don't have the enough money for an 8800 atm :(. Maybe I'll just wait and see how much money i can collect in the next couple of weeks.
