Dualshockin's flawed logic makes my head hurt.

Ever considered a career in politics?

To actually contribute, I think it's a shame that Lair seems destined for some major floppage. I haven't yet acquired a PS3 (PCWii60), but it can't be good for the community at large if the only games that differentiate the Sony gaming offering from the rest of the market allfail to impress.

C'mon Sony... stop the spindoctoring and actually release some good games.

I would prefer a Bleach game, as I'm not a huge fan of the Naruto anime. I must agree though, it looks wonderful and I am highly anticipating this game.

I'll take those GT5 pics seriously when they are a true reflection of the retail game. The game isn't out yet... it's only ownage when you're comparing two games that are available.

I do believe that GT5 will look better than Forza 2, but I don't believe that the difference will be as great as the comparison suggests.

saying that sony owns the UK is absolute BS.

i actually live here. PS3 gets virtually no shelf space, 360 and wii rule the game shops, not to mention the supermarkets. even on magazine racks you can tell, there are loads of 360 mags here and a few ps3 ones too. there are always loads of ps3 mags left on the shelf weeks later.

This is the case in Ireland and the UK, but sadly not in the rest of Europe. I live in Dublin, but I have family in Holland and Spain. The mainland belongs to Sony.

I agree with the problems of

[QUOTE="mruurds"]I'm sorry, but I don't see how the only difference can be taxes and duties. Taxes and duties can't account for such a big difference.Pariah_001

I would debate the "jingoist" segment of his reply, but taxes certainly do have an effect on the economy. As do massively large minimum wages.

I agree with that point. I just don't believe that Sony has such lofty and noble goals as aiming to protect the value of a country's currency or economy. Sony execs are only concerned with determining which price will sell the most consoles. They've obviously decided that in the US the magic number is 599 and that, as this price is lower than cost price, those losses need to be recovered elsewhere. As usual the whipping-boys are the PAL regions, regardless of the state of their economies from a macroeconomic viewpoint or from individual affordability from a micro perspective.

Sony has flagged the US and JPN as its primary target and the rest of the world as secondary. Us Europeans are tired of being treated as second class customers.

Uh that's not Sony's problem. That's the retailer's problem. Learn how business works.NobuoMusicMaker

Wrong. Sony charges retailers in PAL regions much more than retailers in the US even if you take to account duties and taxes.

So you're expecting me to believe that retailers all over the world pay the same price for PS3s? I don't believe that the cost net of taxes and duties is the same in all the regions.

It's Sony's fault.

Yeah, Sony needs to enter with a representation in the OMC so they can have Europe artificialy lower euro price so that fanboys can stop complaining.

Or you could just move. :P

Do you know how much nex-gen consoles cost here in Brazil?

Ps3 = 3000R$ = 1500U$

360 = 3000R$ = 1500U$

Wii = 1900R$ = 950U$

And our minimum wage is 380R$ = 190U$ per MONTH. That's about 1.20U$/hour

You can stop complaining now.

lordxymor

So you're saying that the Euro price is ok because it's not as bad as the price in Brazil? We should all be complaining - you should be starting the petition to get the prices corrected.
