I agree 100% with the TC. Stop hyping games that are not deserving in the hope that they will hit the AAA sweet spot.

There are enough proven Sony franchises that deserve the hype. They may be a little late to the races, but they are coming. The PS3 will eventually have some decent AAA games.

At the same time stop giving great 360 titles a hard time just because you have AAA envy.

  1. Playstation did broaden the market... it woudn't have sold so many units if it didn't
  2. This shows that Sony would want to be in Nintendo's shoes right now as number one and getting all the "market expanding" praise.
  3. SingStar = joke.

kansasdude2009

Buzz is even more of a joke. It has zero replayability. Hardly comparable to the Wii. Singstar sells well but is not really a product to be bragging about.

He should've only mentioned the Eye Toy.

Uh-oh Mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Redfingers

Hour of Victory, Two Worlds, Overlord, Blue Dragon, Crackdown, Perfect Dark, Kameo, Monster Madness.

Edit: Shadowrun.

At launch Kameo was a graphical powerhouse and is loads of fun to play. Crackdown is a solid title and PDZ is AAA on GS.

The PS2 had lots of mediocre titles too. The difference is that the PS2 and the 360 have AAA exclusives (see PDZ for example) whereas the PS3 has nought.

[QUOTE="MADVLAD123"]If games like Bioshock, Gears of War, Mass Effect, and Halo 3 can run on the 360, I think Killzone 2 would be no problem. OmegaBlueUp

I know somebody that runs two emulators through the PS3 and is able to play Gears of War. Not only that, but it actually runs better on PS3(slightly smoother framrate). technically Killzone is likely to be better, in performance, than the games you listed, I could be wrong but I don't see anything as complicated in those games like in Killzone2.

I call shenanigans on this one... link please.

[QUOTE="Zero5000X"]So all of these sources give it good reviews and 1 gives it a poor one and that automatically means the poor one is the most accurate and makes the game a flop? Zero5000X

C'mon dude. Most of those sites are affiliated with Sony, the Playstation brand or are run by PS fanboys. Hardly unbiased objective opnions.

none of the magazines are affiliated with sony. PSM is the only all sony magazine. PSX, Play, and nextgenireland are all multiplat.

nextgenireland is ONLY Sony. I'm pretty sure PSX is also a Sony only magazine.

Playis widely known to be untrustworthy when it comes to realistic reviews.

I personally don't give a **** what score Heavenly Sword gets, I won't be buying the game. Doesn't appeal to me. However, I want reliable reviews to be posted. Play does not offer those. Neither does NextGenIreland. As for the Playstation magazines, you can make up your own mind about that.

+1 rep for the voice of common sense.

Almost allthe reviews on your list, except the low one from IGN UK, are from sympathetic Playstation sites. I regard them slightly more favourably than advertisements.

PS3 discontinued by 2010? See, I can do it too.

Give a link or stop speculating.

Dualshockin's flawed logic makes my head hurt.

Ever considered a career in politics?

To actually contribute, I think it's a shame that Lair seems destined for some major floppage. I haven't yet acquired a PS3 (PCWii60), but it can't be good for the community at large if the only games that differentiate the Sony gaming offering from the rest of the market allfail to impress.

C'mon Sony... stop the spindoctoring and actually release some good games.

Dualshockin

Answer me this one question: Has Lair flopped on GameSpot?

Well I did say "seems destined for floppage". I am aware that the flop tag can only be declared on GS when the official review is in.

That's not the part of your argument that I disagree with ;)
