I've never understood the love Mario 64 gets. I assume it must be a zeitgeist sort of thing or nostalgia, but from a gameplay design and asthetics (on all counts) 64 is just boring compared to the rest of the Mario series. Most of my issues with it stem from its design and limitations. My biggest problem (aside from the horribly antiquated camera and controls) stems from 64's general lack of creativity compared to the other Mario games. Something that Galaxy 2 has in leaps and bounds.

I dont know how old you are, but I remember in 1995 going to Blockbuster because they had a n64 playable demo with Mario 64. No video game in history had ever been made like that before. It really was the first full 3d game in the history of the world, and it set the standard for all future 3d games. I think it has aged well, but if you didnt play it when it was first released and saw how revolutionary it was then I can see how you might think it is only decent.
I hope we dont have to swing our whole arm to make link swing his sword, which is kind of what i suspect when they said 1:1 movement between wii-mote and link's sword. I got annoyed after a while of twitching my wrist in Twilight princess. I would prefer to just press a button like in the old days, or atleast have the option to be able to.
