i went to the local computer store, and i am looking for a desktop that:

plays Modern Warfare 3 on decent graphics

plays starcraft 2 on decent graphics

the computer that the employee referred to me is this:

intel core i7 processor 2600 (3.4GHz)

8GB DDR3- 1333 RAM

1.5TB 7,200 RPM serial ATA HD

AMD RADEON HD 6770 (1GB Video)

this was for the price of 900 dollars

im pretty lacking in knowledge on computers

1. is that a good buildup for my goals? (play sc2 and MW3 on decent graphics)

if so is it a fair price at 900? if its overkill im willing to buy something cheaper

wow..thats much cheaper than what i expected. how is it so cheap? does newegg really do these 100 off deals that are not as easy to find in other places? so i guess im asking are the 100 dollar offs, really worth the 100 dollar off? as in is it really worth a 600 dollar computer right now?

i will mainly be using this lap top for studying for school (MS WORD, OFFICE)

HOWEVER, i wanna play games every once in a while. the range of games i will play are

dota 2, MAYBE diablo 3, LoL?, etc.

i am NOT looking to max settings.

my main priority is

1. reliability (doesnt shut down on me)

2. can play games (does not need to be crazy settings)

3. not too expensive (i dont wanna pay for too much of a high setting computer when gaming is not the BIGGEST priority)

i know the release date on the net is sometime in february. but has there any more of a confirmation that this isnt some date thats gonna be switched up again? this is the only game right now that im really excited about and they frikkin delayed it!!

a second question for those who dont mind answering -

would u say metal gear solid 4 is a fun game to play? (im also into storylines so cutscenes and such dont bother me. I enjoyed 1 and 2 GREATLY, but i played 3 one time and never picked it up again)

In addition to a gaming desk top im buying,

im just trying to buy a basic desktop that is reliable for as cheap as possible. im lookin on newegg and stuff but my knowledge is kinda limited. anyone got any suggestions? i dont need anything crazy. just one thats reliable, and plays basic youtube videos. ill mostly do only word documents, excel, and maybe some kind of software for work.
