[QUOTE="myungstunna"]wow. i wanted to buy computer parts in the next month for a new gaming desktop next month so, for someone like me whats the suggestion?msfan1289

just buy all the toerh parts and wait for HDD (Hard Drives) to go down. no reason to skip out on the rest of the deal you can find right now. also if you want you can try and use the same hard drives you have right now and see if windows wont give you a hard time by providing a key or something.

wouldnti t be good to wait for black friday?

[QUOTE="myungstunna"]thank you so much. thanks to all of u who helped. i asked this earlier and im sure it may be a difficult question but anyone know when prices go back down (due to that natural disaster fiasco)msfan1289

they said the shortages of Hard drives MIGHT will go away in december, so at this point we are all holding our breaths.

nice. so if i buy a comp whenever the shortage goes away. do u think anything else will go down in price? im wondering if its a better idea to just buy one in december or early next year

[QUOTE="kaitanuvax"]

[QUOTE="myungstunna"]

as far as i know some disaster occurred in india which disrupted hdd supplies

you could hold off on that part if you want so the prices return to normal (which is $60-70 for a 1tb, ~$50 for 500gb)

[QUOTE="myungstunna"]thanks for the prompt and thorough reply. got a few questions (sorry im so clueless about comps) 2. when people say DVD burner, does it mean just the port u would put a disk in? i ask because i have no need for burning disks (i assume theyre one in the same) 3. is this comp upgradeable in the future? msfan1289

you do need a dvd burner to install the OS, but yeah you could always use your current dvd burner in your PC

hmm..well yes it is upgradeable in that you could change out the motherboard, cpu, ram and gpu. but as far as we know the am3 series are done for. still, the amd 955 and amd 6850 will last you another ~3 years

just make sure for the DVD burner you get a board that supports IDE cables, if your DVD player you have right now is hooked up by IDE and not SATA. if not a DVD burner cost less then $20 with SATA support and on black friday your MIGHT find a DVD burner for $15 like i did.

i have no idea what any of that is but thanks! aha ill look out for SATA and IDE..hah
