It's been a while. Exciting stuff.
I'll have to make the time for it.

@lonesamurai00: I don't watch ads, but I'm a relatively harsh critic. I'm not afraid of giving a piece of content a 1/10 if it's earned it. I'm not afraid of hurting feelings if I think something needs to be said.
But I have more quality content to consume now than I possibly know what to do with, especially on the video games and online video fronts.
To the point that it's somewhat overwhelming how many enjoyable options I have for spending my time, and every subsequent generation will have all of our content plus all of their own to experience as well, as you said, making it an incredible era to be alive even if you somehow don't like anything that's come out in the last decade.
But maybe that's only because I actually appreciate the circumstances of my life.
It doesn't matter how good anything is if the glass is always half empty, nothing is your fault, and it's everyone else that's to blame.
You're stuck in a Stockholm syndrome complex with your own ego.
It's running the show so completely
that you're now more concerned with being right than being happy.
In fact not even being right, just appearing right.
It's no more the real you than your perception of modern society is the real them.
It's just one idea. One that's willing and now capable of cannibalising your entire personality for the sake of its own self preservation. It's a shame and a waste.
Look, even if at the moment you think it's objectively wrong,
I'd encourage you to lift your mind out of this “putrid maggoty” pit you've made for yourself because that place is good for nothing and no-one. You don't like a piece of content? Just don't pay for it. Beyond that you're not improving anything, only hurting yourself.
If your outlook on everything is the world's fault, that's a bleak position to be in.
If it's your own fault, that's at least a position of hope.
Alright you get the idea.
If you want to close with a snarky sarcastic comment at this point I won't hold it against you, because I know how tight that grip on the personality can be.

@lonesamurai00: .
There's fantastic and thoughtful content everywhere,
but you're more in love with yourself and your opinions than anything else,
to the point that opening your eyes is nothing but a threat to you.
So have fun being miserable and lonely.

@lonesamurai00: Maybe the average has been dragged down through sheer quantity and division of resources, but who cares about the average?
You don't need to watch anything and everything that's tossed your direction,
you can just skim the cream off the top.
These days I don't see how people have the time to even consume the media they're complaining about.
If you actually take 5 minutes to vet the entertainment you want to pay for before you pay for it,
there's literally never been a time that's better for entertainment media.
Stop being so narrow and let go of your addiction to your own confirmation bias.
You'll only look wise to the fools.

Calling it now:
Everyone's expectation will be 0/100.
The actual film will be worth a score of 1/100.
People will say it's, “actually not as terrible as you think!”
lots of people will pay money to watch a 2-hour advertisement,
it will somehow make back double its budget,
and cinema will continue to spiral downwards.

is it just me or does it feel like the word “remake”
should be replaced with the word “remaster”
every time it appears in this article.

“Live services” make me reflexively nauseous.
They're the video game equivalent of a tapeworm.
