I wanted to play this.
But I won't install Epic Games Store on my PC.
Just not even a chance.

Epic is swimming in Tencent money,
(where do you think all those “amazing giveaways” come from?)
and Tencent for all intents and purposes
is just the gaming division of the Chinese Communist Party.
And it ain't because Xi Jinping is a Fortnite addict if you know what I mean.

But ethics aside,
if you think the majority shareholder doesn't have a few lines of their own code
sitting at the heart of the EGS windows app,
or that your data collected isn't also being sent directly to the Party,
you're just not paying attention.

tl;dr
It's a great horror movie, but it doesn't disparage males enough,
so stick a glass ceiling on this one at 8/10.

Cool. What I was hoping for, but not what I was expecting.

p.s.
Still waiting for a reviewer who both uses the phrase “toxic masculinity”
and can actually tell me what it means
without using the words, “when men are like, just being like, sort of all like

No point in my making the sentiment specific.
Better to just say,
I hope EA fails in anything and everything they try to do
unless that thing is either repent or change their ways.

That's actually more than I thought.
More than I thought any console could have sold by this point in this disaster of a generation.

Looks like it would have been really fun.
And still would be if it were finished in 2022.

Reading comprehension is poor here.
She isn't saying people are criticising the set designers, costume designers, or camera operators.
She's saying an enormous amount of world-class work goes into the making of Marvel films,
and it's unfair to dismiss the entire thing based on one aspect you don't like.

Personally I think Marvel films are under-appreciated if anything.
Who knows how long superhero/comic book characters on screen would've remained garbage.
And there's only so many times you can rehash Batman/Joker.

@rizenstrom: First, you keep saying “you act like...” or “you're working under the assumption that...”.
Nothing I'm saying relies on any of the assumptions you've claimed, like for example that the “head of culture” has final say.
It doesn't affect my argument regarding the validity of her position's existence either way. It's a likely outcome, not a foundational axiom.

That's like if I say, “Horoscopes are a scam because the positions of the planets have no effect on what kind of day you'll have.”
Then you say, “You're working under the assumption that everyone plans their daily schedule in accordance with their horoscope prediction.”
Like, no, I'm not. No assumption made. No assumption necessary.
It has nothing to do with my argument at all. You're using the terms incorrectly.

Second, there's nothing absurd about it.
Why should a second opinion
(and for the sake of argument let's say that's all it is, even though there's no way any corporation dishes out six-figure salaries in exchange for inconsequential musings)
necessarily be of any inherent value at all?

Imagine you're camping, far out in the woods with a friend, on a Sunday, and you wake up, but oh no, you've both massively overslept; it's totally dark. It's imperative that you know what time it is, but you've lost your only time-keeping device (!)

You say to yourself, “I think it's 11pm.”
The chances of keeping your job improve with the accuracy of your guess. It's in your best interest to guess correctly.

Then your camping companion (who happens to be the new “Head of Culture” at your company) says, “I think it's 3am.”
Her job is safe regardless of if you ultimately get the time totally wrong. Her role is merely to generate a diversity of opinion.

How can you say with a straight face that her offering holds any value whatsoever? She doesn't even care if you get the time wrong. Her job is easy: Just make sure everyone looks and sounds different. You don't know anything about her. You don't even know if she's trying to get you fired. She'll catch no heat either way. And worse, she can do basically anything she likes in the name of equality/culture and no one will question her, because she was hired for her superior “morality” to combat your own “immorality” which you admitted to by default when you hired her. That means if you clash with her, you've already lost. It means she's untouchable. You've been usurped.
