@aviaziz Red Dead Redemption Gamespot Game of the Year 2010, Demon Souls 2009, Metal Gear Solid 4 2008... Any of these sound particularly non violent to you?
Well that was unexpected... Its a good game but If you guys picked that over some of the other choices there I can only conclude that you guys have been lazy and not actually played the games properly...
So are you guys getting bored with doing this every year or...? Come on help us out here we're all sat here wondering what the hell is going on? The matchup system for game of the year makes no sense because we have essentially ended up in a situation now where I can pick the final already, its a clever idea but not suitable for that, we're only able to vote on one category this year, some of the editor awards are so of kilt it's not even funny and an award for reminding us that persona is awesome? How much did Atlus pay you for that? If you're not interested in doing this anymore then fine but don't half arse it.
They'd still have overheads for storage, rental and bandwidth. That said there isn't a country on the planet that has the infrastructure universal enough to handle that size of file efficiently. I have a 50mb DSL connection but because of bandwidth restrictions I could Start the download, Drive to the shop, Buy the Game and then drive back again before the download would finish.
Game sales would plumet. Purely because people dont have the connections to handle downloading one game let alone 2-3 at a time like they might buy at a store.
Do hope somebody fired this guy. The Gaming retail sector is in enough trouble without the higher ups saying it. Current infrastructure is not stable enough to suport downloads of that size especially in the United State and especially where there are games starting to pop up that devs are struggling to compile onto a single bluray.
The only reason EA would want such a move is to kill resale. Its the only reason a large company speculate the cut of their largest line of income.
