@tarheelsforever: well the ps4 is the best choice as a gaming platform. Competition is what drove Sony to make the better console.

@drprophecy: they shouldn't focus on the gap because it will never close only Sony could do that. The Xbox lost this Gen and that's the bottom line.

Microsoft has patented a new way for the cpu and gpu to communicate. It will allow it to be up to 60 percent more efficient than a comparable pc gpu.The Scorpio is rumored to be using a new  console specific architecture that uses a new rendering method. It will allow for  nearly zero latency communication between the CPU and gpu which will allows for a nearly 60% higher graphical performance when compared to what's currently available on current game consoles and pc graphic cards.

 It's a bunch of mumbo jumbo. It's just a rumor or leak from a friend. So we actually won't know until it is shown off at e3. It could just be a lie,but I believe it because they did something similar when developing the 360 so it's not impossible.

250,000 people that bought a launch pro already had a ps4 hell I have multiple ps4 consoles.

The pro till this day has not sold 1 million consoles worldwide. Sony usually tells us when something like that happens but it's been months since it launch and now it maybe just embarrassing to announce that. They thought they were going to sell 1 million pro models on day one.

@moonco: the switch will win 2 months then go back to dead last. I'd be surprised if it sold more than the wii u.

I thought you said it would have more exclusives at launch than the xb1 has in total.

Funny because just the other day I read that we aren't getting streaming apps because they were focusing on the games but there's only a handful and only one that interest me. If it wasn't for zelda it would be if not already the worst launch line up in history. I love nintendo,but let's face it they are closer to death than the xbox.

@joshrmeyer: they aren't focused on the gap but profits and growth. They have forgotten about catching up. In fact they are setting up for the future.

They lost the sales battle this Gen but they'll have other gene to try again. It's not impossible to beat sony. They did it with custom hardware that was much more efficient than anything on the market for almost 2 years after launch. That's what they are doing to scorpio. It will be a 6tf machine,but it will be 60 percent more efficient than a comparable pc. The scorpio will run like a 10tf pc. Well that's the rumors.

Oh yeah people always say that the ps3 caught up but it wasn't till mid 2014 that it officially surpassed the 360. After the current Gen launched. The console war was over by then, and the current one was just starting up. We'll all know the ps4 destroyed the xb1 after that though.

@sodapoppimpski: it's true. If the Xbox had full Japanese support like Nintendo and Sony then they'd probably have a few million more consoles sold. The games would still tank but it would make those Anime kids happy. But then again that's what the ps4 is for. They have that emo hair genre on lock down.

@joshrmeyer: it's just another reason to buy an Xbox over a Playstation. Will all of my ps4 games transfer over to the ps5 or will I lose my library again?

@tarheelsforever: no they look the same they arent remasters.They don't do anything to the graphics. I'm glad I bought most games last Gen on 360 right now I have 248 games ready to download and play from last gen. While most run at better framerates a small percentage do run on par or worst than on 360.

Most games run worst at first but then get patched up later. Like the mass effect games. They ran like crap on xb1 at first but now they run better than they used to on 360. Just send a complaint to ms and they'll look into it.

It's also hard to complain when it's free.

@joshrmeyer: I'd say it has to do more with hype and momentum. Look at the switch....it only has one decent game at launch and has lots of hardware issues,but people are buying them up and hardly any game sites are covering the hardware problems. Demand is what sells consoles, and the ps4 is in greater demand than xb1. The ps4 is just a beast it's selling great. It's not fair to compare the xb1 sales when it's getting whooped in every other market but north america. They aren't doing bad though 8 to 10 million consoles a year is actually very good. If the wii u had those numbers the switch wouldn't be a thing right now.
