OK I found a new one that doesn't have to include the Kinect in monitoring you. The use of Skype. I found this in an article

"To offset the effects of encryption, the FBI has sought to force companies to create back doors for surveillance, with varying degrees of success. Following its purchase by Microsoft, Skype, the online chat and voice service, last year voluntarily reengineered its architecture to allow the US and other governments to monitor chat communications."

M$ opted into leaving a back door for law enforcement to wire tap your communucations! They are instituting Skype on the X1

17+k is nice but there are other forums and threads were ppl need to know and have a different insight about what is wrong with the X1. I hope that most the upset ppl here will voice what they find wrong with it and educate the others who really have no idea.

Think about the kinect data they are taking...

This is straight from M$ CURRENT Privacy Policy:

" ...our vendors may use aggregate data for fraud detection to help improve their services. This helps them to more accurately detect fraudulent transactions. We may access or disclose information about you, including the content of your communications, in order to: (a) comply with the law or respond to lawful requests or legal process; (b) protect the rights or property of Microsoft or our customers, including the enforcement of our agreements or policies governing your use of the services; or (c) act on a good faith belief that such access or disclosure is necessary to protect the personal safety of Microsoft employees, customers or the public. We may also disclose personal information as part of a corporate transaction such as a merger or sale of assets."

1: They share collected data of yours with "vendors" that you have no way of ever knowing who, when, why , how often without a legal case.

2: They will give away you personal data to the Government ( that you live under or FOREIGN if they ask for it in a legal matter)

3: They release your data on a good faith belief that such access or disclosure is necessary to protect the personal safety of the public = surveillance with the Kinect for any law enforcement agency.

4: encase they sale the Kinect or XBL your data under M$ ToS goes to a company that you did not sign a ToS for privacy policy for.

@shim0 @Gallowhand @ManatuBeard What I don't get is X1 will use a Win off shoot OS. Most programs don't address more than 4 Gigs of ram. So why do they need 8?

Who all can I name in a law suit when walking into someone's house that has an Kinect collecting and sending data for M$.
