Fine Cam, but what about Jeff Gerstmann being fired from Gamespot for giving K&L a VERY low score when Eidos Interactive had the main page adverts? It later came out that Eidos contacted Game$pot about the low score and threaten to pull future adverts so Gamespot fired Jeff for his honest review.
@loafofgame Some games are fun. Attaining a badge on Steam is not. It's exploiting tricks. When I played Skyrim for 500 hours I had fun for my money. I will not spend money to buy Steam cards. But I know poeple that do.
@Cxera Companies are using it to exploit people . Like Steam, where you buy games there are now Steam Levels. To get higher Steam levels you have to buy more games and collect cards. You also buy cards as well and your Steam level will go up.
Origin it using it in the same way now. Websites are using it for the number of posts and blogs and events you attend to get more clicks.
These gamification games are not fun. It is a psychology trick to fill things up and be better than others.
Gamification is to exploit people into spending more time or money doing something for imaginary rewards..... Yeah nobody wins in that game but the people using this cheap psychology trick.
@malfestus The sheer openness of PC compared to the closed console should be enough to raise eyebrows. In the long run PC gaming is cheaper than console gaming if compare buying 50 six month old games, online fees, and hardware for a period of 8 years.
Well I played DDO for 6 years and I can say that +90% of the random people I met for the first time were respectful and nice. Mostly adults play that game and it's PC only sooooo.
