1) How old were you when you started playing violent video games?Matt-4542

hmm 6 or 7

2) How old are you now?Matt-4542

22. 23 in september

3) Have you noticed more agressiveness after playing these video games?Matt-4542

Not even in the slightest

4) What is your stance on this subject. Do you think that video games can instill violent behavior in people?Matt-4542

Video games only entertain. Video games serve as the scapegoat for the mass population that refuses to acknowledge parenting and genetic short comings. If you kill or cause harm for pleasure, there is something fundamentally wrong with ~you~ and not the various forms of media.

5) What do you think of activists like Thompson and Clinton?Matt-4542

Irresponsible and ignorant cowards

And if any of you have children, would you let your children play the games you do or not, and why?

Matt-4542

of course I would.

I would be interested in turning it off because im under the impression that it reduces detail [based on what i saw] and i also heard that its not ideal for everything.

Im my quest for the ultimate tv [within my budget and also located at my nearest store] I often peruse the various shops and look at the tvs that caught my interests at a previous occasions in hopes they are running new trailers/movies on them so i can get a better feel for how the Tv handles different colors, speeds, formats etc etc. Yesterday one store was running the same movie on 3 generations of Samsung Tvs -series 4, 5 and 6] side by side[like the best comparison anyone can ask for ^^]. the Series 5 and 6 were basicaly even except for one thing. Series 5 was cleaner and crisper but had and obviously slower frame rate than the series 6 running in 100mhz which was smoother and faster. I figured it was the 100mhz mode making it smoother so i asked of the guys to play the Tv in normal 50-60hz[whichver the other 2 were running in] and he says ....You cant, its permanently set to 100mhz for everything. This came as a shock to me since i had always though it was a switchable feature but I retain my doubts as most store clerks know nothing about what they sell.

So basically im askin if 100mhz can be switched off or if it is in fact a permanantly set feaure? :s.

Tv models are Samsung LE40A556P [series 5] and LE40A656A [series 6].

Yea it will only output 1080i as maximum. Crap the home theater system for one that does 1080p.

Contrast ratios on a whole has be come a bit of a BS sale point. There are various differnt ways the industry uses to measure contrast ratio but the 2 used most are the Full on/off contrast test and the ANSI contrast test. Full on/off yeilds much higer results and as such is the touted stat on the packaging. Surely 15000[full on/off] is better than 2000[ANSI] right? Well unless your gonna watch that TV in complete darkness there wont be a difference between 10,000:1 and 500:1.

If you are going to play console games then it wont make a difference.Spybot_9

Ill be playing all current gen and some last gen systems on it as well as Blu ray movies. Why wont it make a difference though? Is GT prologue in 1080p the same as 720p?

With gaming in NATIVE resolution(not the upscaling crap of consoles) you can EASILY notice the difference on a 19" monitor.Spybot_9

Hmm interesting. I recall a HDTV test of sorts here on gamespot about a year ago [which i cant seem to find now] that didnt mention that little fact o.O...now its gotten a tad confusing....

Im gonna have the monies to buy a PS3 soon but im in doubt becuase a while back i saw that patent sony applied for, for the White ps3 which by all my standards was the sexiest piece of tech Ive seen in a while :p. Not to mention ive been hearing internet mumurs of a possible ps3+bigger HDD+ backwards compatabliy[again] that not the 80gb or 60 gb. So anyone have some solid info on this or should i just bite the bullet and buy now?
