Just like for PC, if the copyright owners feel necessary, they take legal action. I know many HL mods were shut down. And since this is on the PS3, Sony will probably take action if they feel they need to keep the integrity of the open mod system they put out.

So all the original, good stuff breeding things like CS and DoD and keeping the crappy Star Trek FPS wannabe away.

Danm_999

Which means exclusion of content, exactly what I was saying before.

And there's still the issue of making all this content compatible with the PS3. This isn't going to be like downloading a mod on your PC and plugging it in.

Shouldn't a standard platform make it EASIER? There's all sorts of graphics cards, ram configs, processors. With PS3 you know exactly what's there. IF the mod works on your system, it works on everyones.

[QUOTE="Flexmaster_365"]To answer the thread question. Gears 1 looks a lot better graphics wise.Flexmaster_365

...which leads me to wonder:

If Gears looks so much better than Killzone 2 already, why feel the need to keep invoking Gears 2--a nominally nonexistent game--to defend your position?

Becaise as you said this is Alpha the game will most likely look a little better by releasem and it does have Gears beat in a couple of areas. I just wanted to make it clear though that Gears is an old game and that Gears 2 will look much better.

Post an example of a sequel looking "much better" on the same platform. I want to see what kind of jump you are expecting.

[QUOTE="0rin"]Honestly lems... Gears 2? First off, these sites are comparing a finished second-gen 360 game (often touted as the 360's "graphical poster child") to a PRE-ALPHA version of a second-gen PS3 game.

Second, What makes you think Gears 2 is going to look any better than gears 1? Halo 3 looks almost identical to halo 2 (it does look better, but only slightly). I honestly think gears 2 is going to look very similar to 1, but maybe a bit better. Closer to UT3 i'm guessing. But even then... we have yet to see KZ2 as an even nearly finished product. Stop waging all your cookies on a game you haven't even seen yet.
jokerandspidey

Halo 2 and 3 cant even be compared they are different generations of hardware. Halo 3 is vastly superior.

Look at the jump of Halo 1 to Halo 2.

Expect something similar for Gears 2.

Sure! Your logic is as good as a blind monkey driving a semi. (It doesn't make any sense, just predictions)

I'm not sure if you're disargeeing with the statement that sequels on the same system typically don't look vastly different.

If you are can you post an example of a sequel that blew it's predecessor on the same system?

lems get the milked franchise, while we Cows get a New Ip from the creator of Katamari. J/k :P

Im so excited for this new IP, love innovative new games. Love katamari! trully megaton...

Rhys555

This is semi-ownage, katamari would make it full ownage. Good day :)

I find it honestly hard to tell the difference between the 360 Katamari and the PS2 versions.

The fact that we're getting the next idea from the original creator makes me pretty excited. I still want a next gen katamari though,

GS and IGN previews were very postive, from what I remember...

Teufelhuhn

IGN writer said he's always loved the series. So do I. I'm not worried.

SMG and MP3 are better than any game coming out in the 2nd half of 2007 for the "competition". PS3 basically has nothing to compete. And 360, don't give me Halo 3. Halo games are shallow, mindless FPSs. MP games add adventuring and puzzle solving elements to the equation. Halo may sell a lot, but that's only because it appeals to the casuals. MP is for the true hardcore gamer.

It's checkmate for Nintendo.

Number_1_Gamer

PS3 has Rachet and Clank and a whole bunch of quality shooters.

360 lacks any good family friendly game this year but has a whole lot to appeal to the MP fan.

He opened it up to Game Rankings with Crackdown as thhe cut off.

The fact that VF5 doesn't count as a game leads me to believe that a game announced as multiplat takes away its mention of being a game. That takes away the majority of the 360's big hitters since they're on PC and there's no such thing as a console exclusive.

CaseyWegner

i know. you still left a bunch out. kameo? graw? (same name, different game), saint's row? table tennis?

Crackdown was rated higher than the rest except for GRAW at gamerankings.

I'll put GRAW back.

Using Crackdown as a cutoff only leaves Motorstorm and Resistance as notable released exclusives which I'm sure a lot of cows would agree with (with the exception of some holding onto Sigma)

come back to gamespot.

Oops I fell into a myth.

This might have been asked before but meh.You said gaming platform, do arcades count as well?

yes.

Ok so we have 360: Forza, PGR3, GRAW, Dead Rising, and Crackdown vs PS3 Resistance and Motorstorm...

I bet Nintendo crushes by these rules...

Wii: Super Paper Mario

Oh, nevermind

Indeed, lol. Especially since he also said that the PC counts in regards to multiplats. That means Gears of War does not even count as an exclusive for the 360. Hey, it's the rules, right?;)

CaseyWegner

he left a bunch out but no, gears no longer counts.

What, low scoring games? By this logic, the 360 has no games either. But hey, the rules are the rules, right?:P

Of course I know better, as I own both a 360 and a PS3. I just get tired of seeing the PS3 get the short end of the stick, when according to "the rules" here, the 360 is no better off.

he left out quite a few exclusives scoring 7.9 or better including several AAEs.

Casey pulled gamerankings into this in the first place.
