Okay, so if I bear attacks me in the woods, all I have to do is build up my heat and beat it down with my bare hands. Makes perfect sense.

Looks incredible- a marked contrast from the ruined Rapture- as they say, you're getting to Columbia before everything goes to hell for a change. And those combat looks a lot more chaotic than the fighting in the original Bioshock, even just in the terms of how many enemies are shooting at you. Irrational certainly put the effort in.

She doesn't find any medical supplies at the end but she does find a lighter- I can guess where this is going...

This looks really good for something that started off as a 3DS game. Gonna give it a look when I can. :)

@hystavito Yeah, like it's a brand new concept. Not exactly, Mister Voice Over Man.

I like how Gamespot is making the storyline of the Dead Space series out to be really hard to follow, when honestly, it really isn't that complicated compared to some series. And besides, that 'Previously on Dead Space' video plays when you start a new game, it's not just 'buried' away in the Extras menu.

Anyway...

Up to Chapter 14 right now and enjoying it so far. I'll agree the story isn't as involving as the other games (DS2 probably has the best story in the main trilogy, IMO), and some of the characters aren't as fleshed out as before (Norton in particular starts off as a prick and ends as a prick). The main game play is still pretty solid though, and challenging- can clearly see where a co-op partner would make some sections a lot easier when you're being assaulted by four or five necros at a time- and the weapon crafting system has so much choice and potential behind it as well. Haven't played co-op yet so can't offer an opinion on that yet, but I've enjoyed what I've played so far.

Can see where he's coming from- let's be honest, if the Dead Space series had essentially been the first game done over similarly three or four times, people would start asking for something new. And lo and behold, they take a different approach with DS3 and not everyone's happy. Proof that you can't please everyone.

Having played through just over half the game, I'll admit it's not as scary as the other games, but I've still had fun playing it and there's a lot to recommend it on. Just saying 'oh, I hear it's not scary like the others, I'm not playing it' means you might be missing out on a good experience- at least give it a try.

And what's wrong with broadening your fanbase and getting more people to like your franchise? Maybe that was Visceral's decision to begin with- nothing wrong with sharing your franchise with other people.

@NTM23 Yeah, I looked at the DLC screen myself and know about ration seals now- why I make sure I always use my scavenger bots when I can, cause I think that's the only place to find ration seals- you can't pick them up normally like other resources.
