No, EA loves people who buy everything in their microtransaction shop, and that's not me. I might buy a couple of addtional features if they're cool, but the lion's share of it will be ignored by me.
I still prefer microtransactions to subscription fees in MMO's and Xbox Gold - which is always a rip-off, becuase I have the choice not to buy something I don't like
Sadly the city size you played in the beta is exactly the size the game will launch with. Because they decided to simulate every single single sim going to work or shopping, traffic, water pumping, then simulate turds in the sewer system, modern day computers can't process anything bigger, because it infinately increases what needs to be simulated.
So long story short, it's a design flaw. According to Maxis we can't get bigger cities.
The game is a lot shallower than previous versions. You have less control of your city than ever before, because everything has moved behind the simulation. Basically, the game plays itself and you get to interact with it. They've also required the online DRM, turned it into a multiplayer game (Simcity has always been one of the all time great solo experiences), and modding by the community will be prevented in favor of microtransactions
Ironic how dismiss the comparison to surgery and then drone on mindlessly about how they don't understand the intricacies of video game making and the work people put in. We don't understand the intricies of surgery either. It's the exact same thing in that we don't need to fully understand what's going on behind the scenes to know what's good or bad. How do you know he wasn't in the beta? That could be his assessment of the game. While I don't completely agree with his opinion, my impression of the game was disappointment, Maxis made a lot of mistakes.
The only difference between his ignorance and yours is how verbose you are.
If a doctor performs medical malpractice I guess I shouldn't complain because I couldn't perform the operation either. Is that how it works now? It's your opinion that in order to know the difference between good and bad or right and wrong you need a specially trained skill set? What a completely ignorant post you made.
Although I loathe to defend the terrorist organization known as the NRA, I really can't find fault with the application. It's a gun safety app and there's nothing inappropriate in it. the targets in it aren't school kids, it's just targets.
Condemning this is similar to a few years ago when Fox condemned Mass Effect for its sex scene.
