I have to agree with you completely. I liked the beta and it isn't a bad game, but the fact of the matter is that it isn't good enough to justify $15 a month.

The reality is that most people will play it and then go back to WOW in a month ;(

Just because Arenanet says that now, do you honestly think that's how it will be forever? No game company has ever lied or changed their minds? Without a monthly fee there's more incentive to nickel and dime consumers. I wouldn't be surprised if 6 months from launch the best gear in the game can only be acquired through real money transactions
