I have a feeling this stable frame rate thing means a locked 30 not 60 for Pro owners. They don't mention locking it at 60 anywhere I've looked...so that kinda tells me everything I need to know.

@GSJones1994: Fusion still did a bit too much talking. But even worse was the hand-holding. They told you everywhere to go in Fusion and it ruined the exploration aspect. Good game, but Super / Zero Mission were much better as far as 2D Metroids go.

@GSJones1994: Yeah dude, I agree with everything you said. People judge this game solely off of the bad cut scenes. Metroid was never a movie, its a game. And the gameplay is fantastic. It's also the only 3D Metroid in existence from a 3rd Person perspective, and I think Team Ninja did an awesome job.

@mrpelicanpants: true, the VIBE is wrong, I agree with that wholeheartedly but that is mainly because of the horrible cutscenes that you can't skip. To say that this game is not Metroid is ridiculous though. Team Ninja did an amazing job retaining the tried and true mechanics from the Metroid series in this game, while adding awesome combat to a simple control scheme. Story aside, the gameplay is a BLAST.

The other guy is right, it's the collective hive-mind of internet haters that have ruined the reputation of this game, because all major reviewing outlets gave the game a fairly positive rating. Strip the game of ALL of its shitty cut scenes and you have a pure Metroid experience.

Is it perfect? Of course not, but it is definitely something to build on from a gameplay aspect. I personally could care less about Metroid's story unless it involves the Chozo. Ever since the federation starting showing up more and more, I've become less and less interested in the story.

But Other M's CORE gameplay is fantastic.

Wind Waker HD is so much better. I still have friends who flocked to Twilight over WW cuz of its "mature" visual style, but honestly the game is just not great. I enjoy the dungeons though, but everything else in between is absolute trash.

@soulfulDAGGER: I'm wondering do we all just need larger televisions LOL. I feel the same about the poor res for fonts especially, but I'm only rockin a 50"

@willemiliano: yeah "amazing" is a stretch. Some songs are awesome, others are jarring / unnecessary / out of place. It's a mixed bag, but the good portions are definitely great.

@Itzsfo0: I mean that's cool... you love MMO's more. I don't think your response required a dissertation, you clearly just enjoy MMORPG's more. I enjoy story driven RPG's more. Grew up on them since the mid-90s before that dread "J" distinction existed.

You're also, in an annoying long-winded kinda way, passively-aggresively insulting story-driven games. If that's not your cup of tea, fine.

But the bottom line is you enjoy the modern MMO more than its foundation.

The original XC catered to the heart and soul of the classic RPG and XCX caters to the never-ending action and grinding of the MMO.

Just think this game should have been its own entity like "Xenoblade Chronicles Online" or something.
