Have to be better than the standard PS4 controller's lousy thumbsticks. And D-pad buttons. And bumpers. Best solution would be for them to just release an Xbox One controller adapter.
@computernoises: It's a different architecture from the Wii/Wii U and there's no sign it will support their controllers. Emulation might be possible, but seems like it wouldn't be worth much, so probably not gonna happen. More likely we'll see a few remasters instead. DS/3DS back compatibility could be possible, though there's no indication that it even supports touch, let alone 3D, so again, hardware limitations, aside from cartridge format and the lack of a second screen.
It absolutely needs to have a new virtual console with NES through Gamecube game support, though. It would be nice to see mobile games from Gameboy through 3DS downloadable too, but who knows. Though of course that will still mean having to re-purchase all your old Nintendo games again.
It's basically an Nvidia Shield tablet, which runs $200. Add the gimmicky joy-con pads and docking station, and I'm guessing $250 out of the box, good controllers sold separately.
@troll_elite: While we don't know any of the detailed specs yet, MS isn't emphasizing any major increases to the CPU power, which suggests it'll be very similar to the current Xbox One, maybe with a bit of a clock-speed bump. The big horsepower jumps they've mentioned are in GPU shader ops and bandwidth, both of which are several times that of the Xbox One. That will help it push a lot more pixels, and may allow some GPU intensive shader functions to render better details, high quality textures, certainly, and that's what they are seemingly focusing on.
