@uncle5555: Yeah it's a He said, She said and the other side of the story was that Platinum intentionally wasn't moving along with the development of Scalebound in a timely fashion. Allegedly the studio shifted all focus to work on some Sony Exclusive while stalling all development on Scalebound. You can kind of see the proof if you observe the game's trailers since the game had many years and wasn't looking so hot.
@domiddian: In the video game business there aren't a lot of developers who make one exclusive series (Playground has only ever made Forza Horizon games) and then make their next major game multiplatform without sullying the existing business arrangement around that exclusivity and right now the unofficial rumors say FH4 (in Japan) is coming in 2018.
Jack dies so that Cameron Could concoct Avatar, a hair brained faux scifi movie about Native Americans turned into space alien blue cat people getting an absolutely improbable revenge on the evil colonists who nearly eradicated them thousands of years ago. Anyone with any knowledge of history can see through that terrible movie since every time an technologically advanced civilization comes across a lesser one the way it's always been resolved through occupation and genocide of those lesser groups.
Oh and one last conjecture, If you switched these boxes so that last year the Xbox One Pro came out and this year the PS4 X just dropped these Hatchet Job Hit Pieces would all be turned into talk of the Glorious MASTER PS4 X Race pwning Xbox One Pro with 4K Graphics, UHD 4K Bluray, and Greatness Arrives.
Let's cut the BS already, most people bought PS4 because it was cheaper and now that it's inferior too they have to up the efforts of the attack on Xbox to bluster their egos to quell their doubts. Exclusives are nice when they pan out but the bulk of the PS4 exclusives are as impactful as the metric ton of shovel ware that fills steam. CoD, Madden, NBA 2K, and a few other multiplatform games make up the driving force in the video game industry.
There's better things to be vocal about like ending dumb timed exclusivity deals that Destiny and CoD have. Stopping Loot crates that are implemented in similar fashion to slot machines that prey upon people psychologically. Pushing for Console Crossplay so that large and small online games get the largest pool of players possible which would make better match making while maximizing the longevity of games we all enjoy. Lastly, as much as some pretend not to want PS4 backwards compatibility it would be another good thing to get off the ground and running.
@derangel: Yet, all of Playground games are only the Forza Horizon series (only on Xbox) and the timing of when they started working on this project was not too long after Lionhead Studios shutdown. But really Phil Spencer would have to be asleep at the wheel if this game isn't an Xbox exclusive.
@uncle5555: Opinions and misinformation? The X patches only apply on X consoles, every X version has out preformed the Pro version, a large portion of sony's exclusives are mediocre Japanese developed games that don't get Xbox ports due to the virtual xenophobic bias these companies operate with. Then on the other hand most of the other sony exclusives are overrated psudeo cinematic just for the feels experiences that just grow tiresome and irritating.
Also let's say that Sony can keep stringing along it's blind fans with lies and promises of games that will be out some time soon but in reality they are years away. Just wait for Spider Man and The Last of us 2 to end up on the PS5 (and just wait for the PS5 in general since it's not coming out for at least 3+ years)
The other overlooked fact is that the X has incredibly more support than that PRO. The PRO waited months to get used while the X has plenty of enhanced games out before day one. Honestly if you are a sony fan you should be grateful since developers are now adding more titles to PRO support since the X has kicked open the door to get more out of consoles which also helps PC since the standards aren't so low anymore.
Oh and I was a Day one Dreamcast owner. I got six games, a couple VMUs, and the Arcade stick for Soulcailber all on launch day, but much like it is now my Dreamcast ended up getting pushed to the side for the more powerful PS2 and then shortly after that the PS2 got pushed over by the Xbox with even more power because better graphics, better exclusives, better box.
@santinegrete: I also had interest in Scalebound but if you really investigate what was going on with it's development it becomes apparent that the game was a disaster better off aborted.
I know it's not going to happen, but I wish the team that was left to work on Multiplayer would be capable and also allowed to put out a Xbox One X enhancement for this game. I stopped playing it because at the time I assumed there would be one down the line. Now I'm just slightly sad about it since this game could of been shown at it's best with one.
