@proceeder: I'm not sure I understand why you're complaining in this particular case. It seems like all weapon "balance" changes were IMPROVEMENTS. There isn't one situation where I see a "decreased damage from x" or "made it more difficult to use y".

Which change are you concerned about here?

@alldaelong: Because the comments that have been made are no different from someone drawing certain conclusions about a video game just based on reading the reviews on it. I understand the concern. It's hard to really take reviews objectively any more (regardless of the medium), because everyone has some level of subjectivity to their reviews which draws on certain life experiences.

So, to hear many people state this is such a GREAT movie, can that really be trusted with so much concern about the objectivity of that review? How can we be sure that it's not just coming from the perspective of "socially, we are at a time that we can/should overlook the shortcomings of the objective quality of this film, in favor of <insert SJW movement here>".

@gamersince78: I don't think people are saying it's a bad thing. But having an African American as the lead character/protagonist doesn't automatically make it Oscar worthy either.

Who is really being "obtuse" here? Look at things a bit more objectively...it really isn't about the color of the actor's skin...as much as you'd like to make it about that. Or are you just trying to compensate for past "injustices" you've committed in your own life?

Chill the eff out, MATE.

@nativepixel: It's what the SJWs have made it. I haven't seen the movie, nor do I have much interest in doing so. (Some will say that makes me racist, I'm sure) I think the MCU has quickly saturated my pallet. See, entertainment can't be entertainment any more (for some) unless it's ticking appropriate boxes. I'm sure you'll have many people screaming Oscar nomination simply because...dare I say it!...the protagonist is a black guy. People aren't able to look at things objectively any more without putting a bent on it due to the "social injustices" that continue to proliferate throughout the industry. (I don't subscribe to this sentiment, mind you!)

This whole diatribe that Gamersince78 is spitting throughout this thread makes this evident; and I'm more on Metallic's side.

@benji2d: For someone that (supposedly) played all games in the Souls series, you sure whinge a lot. First of all, don't suck at the game. That's pretty much how the Souls games work. Second, you should really learn to use the resources available to you in the game; my guess is you're not killing the right thing for that Fang you need so desperately.

Why even play 1-2 more weeks? Just give it up now...it seems like you've accepted your time in the game is futile. Go play something else.

@oasisbeyond77: GOTY Edition? What makes you think they're going to have that? Doesn't a GOTY Edition typically include all previous paid DLC? If all the major DLC for this game is going to be free, then I fail to see how you'll benefit (at least financially) from a GOTY Edition.

@xzerocarnagex: For a vet, this game is not difficult at all. The first time I got triple-carted was against Nergigante. Before that, I think I got carted once by two different monsters...one of them was the Diablos fight and I think the other was against Legiana (which was just a stupid death on my part).

I solo'ed the entire game up until the last two Elder Dragons (Vaal Hazak and Xeno) when I used my SOS Flares. And that was just because I didn't feel like taking 40 mins to do each of them.

This game is very easy compared to the previous iterations.

@sepp_123: You need to be aware of the following when trying to trap as well. If you are using the Palico gadget where he can use Shock Traps periodically, the monster can build up an "immunity" to shock traps by the time it is weak enough to capture. Using a Shock Trap for the capture, may not work then. You're better off to carry Pitfall Traps if you are using the Flashfly Cage Gadget with your palico!

The above has pretty much hit where I think the improvements need to be made; most notably is the Investigations system. It's a WONDERFUL addition, but they need to provide a way to manage them easier. Search/query filters would be ideal - give us a way to search on Monster Type (Fanged, Flying, Brute, etc or by Monster Name specifically) and Zone. Much of the Investigations will be used to hunt a particular monster/type and/or in a particular zone...because they are used to complete Bounties that a hunter takes.

They need to make Astera *itself* the Multiplayer area...it's very disjointed that going to the Gathering Hub is the place to see others in your session running around.

Health Bars on the large monsters??!?! ABSOLUTELY NOT! I disagree with this whole-heartedly. When I first started the series many many years ago, I thought this was sorely needed. But being an MH "vet" now, absolutely not. This is a "staple" of the gameplay. It should not be done. Hell, I think the the new people to the game should feel fortunate that they even get damage numbers with their attacks, and get the additional icons on the monsters (in the mini-map) that show fatigue and near-death! This was NEVER in any previous iterations of the game. You will adapt...you have to.

The comment on MP scaling, I disagree with as well. If you're playing as a duo...you have your Palicoes to benefit you...it's like having 2.75 people in the session. when you're at 3 or more people, then you're even better off. The MP scaling of monster health is sufficient. The only variability is the size of the monster that may cause you more problems, potentially (if it's an extremely large one).

Gear crafting/upgrades I think has been improved SUBSTANTIALLY over the previous iterations of the game! Yes, I'm sure it could use a bit more work...but compared to what we dealt with previously, this is light years better! I find it hard to complain about what they have done in MHW.
