@lonesamurai1 @outlawoftorn @Slade968 7970 ghz is clearly not mid range. as the only thing more powerful is a 7990 or Titan which goes into extreme performance.
by the way, it is useless comparing PCs to consoles. prime example right now is that GTA 5 is coming to consoles but not yet to PCs. also quite often I find that the multi-player community is larger on consoles and its also easier to do local multiplayer on them.
@lonesamurai1 @four3one @Slade968 you need to factor in the fact everyone who owns a console has the same piece of hardware, hence games are optimized extremely well, which means they do better than their hardware equivalents on a PC.
with PCs, obviously you have more power, but there is such a diverse set of hardware configurations that games do not get optimized well (e.g. planetside 2 does not run well on crossfire configurations).
@pspearman @McSkombi the point is that multiplayer is all about fair play between players.
when you are up against people who have paid their way to best armor, its going to be a long and frustrating road catching up to them, if that is even possible given the time it will take.
@nickpeck36 @tomservo51 that is the point. those games you mentioned are free to play, while Ryse is not.
the f2p model is good since you can try it out. if you enjoy it you can pay in small amounts to get things that attract you in the game.
i know for a fact that you are not penalized for not buying anything in planetside 2. i have played for months. you can enjoy it and compete effectively without ever paying anything.
but paying $60 up front and finding further costs in-game is hard to swallow.
@Zoza24 @outlawoftorn @EggEmperor who knows...maybe something cool like 10 dollars off the sequel if you finish the game or get a number of kills in multiplayer or something.
@Simsyas @outlawoftorn @golden_ashen haha. that would be cruel. but no, its some sort of rewards program. people are getting confused with what a patent means.
you patent something so that no one else can use the term in advertising and promotions.
