@splash42 To be fair, it seems a bit more like they're (in this case) just kowtowing to negative fan feedback on the matter. The whole flashlight setup was good the way it was, but even so, a ton of people seemed to hate it.
@PixelAddict We kinda do, actually. Sony's built a huge portion of their sales pitch on the idea that the online services are free. Dropping those free services would be PR suicide. It'll take a LONG time and an unlikely rise in PSN+ subscriptions to get them to even think about it.
Well they were "all up in Eidos' business" before anyway, so now that Squeenix owns Eidos, this is hardly a surprise.
...Also, when it comes to games, "ground breaking" means nothing. Game advertisers have used hyperbole to such an insane extent that no adjective sounds impressive.
